Brian had been so confident that his roommates wouldnât be home until Sunday afternoon. He swore to you up and down that they were never early to anything in their life, and definitely wouldnât get back from their road trip until the day after next. You were worried about the idea. Youâd only been dating for a few months, and youâd still never met his friends. They knew of your existence, of course, but from what you heard about them from Brian, they were loud and a bit messyâ what you would expect from college boys.Â
You had a school trip you would need to leave for Sunday morning, and given that it was already Friday night by the time Brian was suggesting you sleep over at his place, it really was your last chance to spend any time with him. Normally you would never consider something so risky, especially when you had never even met his roommates. There was a no visitor policy for student housing; not that anyone in the male housing followed that too strictly.Â
You had weighed the chances of it all on the drive back, and you were going to say no, until Brian had kissed you so sweetly and your resolve completely shattered. It was so easy to get swept up staring at his pretty eyes or admiring the swoop of his nose or the plush of his lips. All sane thoughts practically went out the window, except for the inkling hope that you wouldnât regret it in the morning.
It was quiet when you woke upâ a good sign. Brian was still sleeping next to you, one arm slung around your waist, and him shirtless. You had thrown on one of his shirts as your pyjamas the night before due to being so unprepared. You took a moment to enjoy the peacefulness of it all.Â
Brianâs bed was extremely comfortable, and the blanket was perfectly warm against your bare legs. Not to mention the scent of his cologne that clung to his sheets, giving you just enough of a whiff to feel like the blanket wrapped around you was his arms. His room wasnât stuffy either, which pleasantly surprised you. You would never regularly bet on the dorm of 4 junior college boys to be particularly clean, but you would take what you could get.
But then you heard it. The distinct and indisputable sound of the front door opening. You tensed up slightly, glancing at your phone. Geez it was almost 10AM.Â
You listened closely, hoping that somehow it wasnât what you thought it was. You were so not prepared to meet your boyfriendâs friends like this. Your heart sank as you heard voices. There was no doubt that his roommates had arrived back home a day early, and your plan to have the house to yourself had been ruined just like that.
âHyung, whoâs shoes are these? Never seen them before.âÂ
You heard one of the guys speak, his voice gentle.
âI donât know. Probably just forgot one of us owned a pair like that.â
The voices seemed to shift, becoming a little quieter as they got further away from Brianâs bedroom. You tried to ignore the pit in your stomach as you turned to your still sleeping boyfriend, nudging his arm with as little panic as possible.Â
âMmm⌠morning, baby,â he mumbled, eyes closed as he pulled you closer.Â
âBrian, I think your roommates are back,â you whispered with some dread.Â
âHm?â he blinked one eye open, staring at you as if to really check if he had heard you right.
âYour roommates. They just came home.â The panic in your voice was rising. Brian sat up, seemingly wide awake now. He raked a hand through his hair, attempting to tame the bedhead he had woken up with.Â
âItâs okay. You were gonna meet them eventually. Letâs just go say hi, explain the situationâ that itâs definitely not what it looks likeâ and then everything will be fine.âÂ
âI canât go out there dressed like thisâ in your clothes!â you whisper-shouted. Your boyfriend blinked, as if he had never considered that before.Â
âItâs okay. You look sexy like that,â he stated, a smile growing on his face.Â
âBrian.âÂ
âOkay, Iâm sorry. I can try to sneak you out, but it probably wonât work. Jiho always notices everything,â he sighed, grabbing a random shirt from his dresser to throw on.Â
âThis is not how I wanted to meet your friends,â you groaned, head in your hands. âI wanted to make a good impression. Instead theyâre gonna see me come out of your room, in your clothes, and fill in the rest.âÂ
âY/n, youâre overthinking this. Theyâve already heard so many great things about you. So what if you stayed the night? Itâs not like we did anything.âÂ
âThey donât know that! How are you planning to convince them that this situation really is completely innocent?â
Brian sighed. âIâll figure something out.âÂ
You hoped he meant what he said, but you could tell he was unsure himself by the nervous expression on his face. As your voices had naturally raised through conversation from the whispered tone you had started out with, you hadnât considered the fact that his roommates would be able to hear your conversation through the thin walls, or that they were already prepared to tease Brian about all of it.Â

Notes: I was so excited to write this after I got the request, so tysm for requesting anon! And I hope you like it. đ¤
You woke up the minute you felt the feeling of being pulled towards someone, that someone being your boyfriend.
Even if you were used to these type of affection, you almost always woke up. You didnât mind but the only downfall was that you had a hard time going back to sleep, so you preferred to start your morning at that time. Good thing it usually occurred at around 9:30, so not that early.
Since it was the weekend, you stayed in bed for a while until you felt that it was appropriate to get up.
You carefully tried to peel away Brianâs arms from around your waist, not wanting to wake him but, as usual, it was impossible. The blonde was quite clingy in the mornings, and for some reason, he could tell when you were about to get up and away from his embrace.
âBaby, nooo.â He whined softly and tightened his embrace, placing his head on your shoulder.
You chuckled. âItâs 10 am darling, I think itâs time for me to get up.â
âBut itâs Saturday, letâs sleep in.â He hid his head on your neck.
âAnd what do I gain from it?â
âSpending more time with your incredibly handsome boyfriend?â
âHmm.â You pretended to think about it. âI guess that sounds alright.â
âAlright?â His tone sounded offended which made you laugh hard. You turned around on his embrace and saw Brian pouting.
âIâm kidding.â You kissed his cheek. âYouâre too cute. Letâs rest for a bit more, then.â
The blonde cheered and hugged you, getting into a comfortable position under the covers.
Hours passed, three to be exact, when you stirred.
You yawned and rubbed your eyes lazily. You looked at your left and found the blonde still sleeping, which didnât surprise you, at all. His head was resting on his pillow, a relaxed expression on his face, while his arms were, once again, around your frame.
Smiling, you ruffled gently a few hairs that fell on his face and kissed his forehead lovingly. That made him unconsciously smile.
Slowly, you freed yourself from his embrace, with a lot of difficulty and walked towards the kitchen.
You took out all of the ingredients you needed to make breakfast, as you did on weekends.
The weekendâs routine consisted of you preparing breakfast, cleaning the apartment and then lounging on the couch for the rest of the day alongside your boyfriend.
As you prepared the food, you heard light footsteps that came all the way from the bedroom and stopped behind you.
Then a pair of strong arms wrapping around your body.
âGood morning, pretty.â Brian said in a sleepy but husky voice.
âGood morning, my love.â You leaned into his touch. âHow are you?â
âI was doing alright until I woke up without you by my side.â
âIâm sorry but I needed to make us something to eat, we would have starved otherwise.â You joked.
âOh, yeah. What would I do without my personal chef?â
âYou would probably live of off takeout.â
You felt him nod his head as he laughed. âTrue.â
âThis is almost done.â You spoke a few moments later.
âAlright, Iâll set the table.â
It only took a few more minutes to finish preparing everything, and to bring it to the table.
You ate while animatedly chatting with Brian, talking about your week and future plans.
When you were done, your boyfriend washed the dishes. Meanwhile you cleaned the mess you made while cooking.
You spend the next hour and a half wiping, scrubbing and tidying your entire apartment.
Exhausted, you let yourself fall on the living room couch, the blonde doing the same.
âOh my god, Iâm so tired.â He complained. âI hate cleaning.â
âMe too.â You looked at him. âWe should do it less often.â
âAs tempting as that sounds, love, I donât think we can do that.â
âUnfortunately, youâre right.â
You stayed looking at the ceiling for a while, too lazy to move. Deciding you needed your boyfriendâs warm, you slowly moved until you were laying next to him.
He smiled at you and hugged you tightly, your head in his chest.
âMy favorite time of the day is definitely this.â You yawned.

FINAL GOODBYE | (angst)
âł after the breakup, you find a playlist left behind on your phone. no message. no explanation. just six tracks. each one a timestampâmemories you thought you understood. the quiet goodbye. the fights you never finished. the warmth you didnât name until it was gone. you press play and the memories unravel in reverse, tangled in lyrics and silence. but the final track wasnât there before. itâs new. and itâs his voice.
a/n:Â this was requested by an anon, the title is taken from the lyrics to this song, which they requested be used in writing this fic. iâm not really that good with writing bad boys, but i hope you like this drabble anyways!
Kang Younghyun is someone you should avoid. You know it, and yet you find yourself drawn into his web.
Youâve heard the rumors about Young K and his friends. Theyâre in a band, and they thinkâ no, they know theyâre hot shit. The group of five know exactly how to get what they want, and exactly how to get rid of it when they donât want it anymore.Â
You always told yourself you were too smart to fall for all their tricks and charms. The prettiest things are always the most dangerous, like those brightly colored jungle frogs, and Younghyun was the prettiest of them all. What you never anticipated was Younghyun setting his sights on you.Â
In all your years in school with the boys, Younghyun had never once made a move on you or any of your friends; to be honest, you didnât think he knew you even existed. Aside from the one time youâd been in a group project together and heâd turned in his portion the morning of, youâd never interacted.Â
But there was this party.Â
You have a cousin whoâs kind of cool, most people only like him because heâll take good pictures of you for your Instagram and heâs always got access to good alcohol, but his ego isnât inflated so he just floats around everywhere. Usually, youâre pretty straitlaced, but you owe him some favors and he cashes them all in to get you to be his designated driver to Jaeâs party. Basically, youâre babysitting for no pay.Â
Itâs the type of party thatâs boring if you donât drink, because you donât have any friends â and that shouldâve been your first clue.Â
That night, youâd sat alone on the porch and kept an eye out for your cousin, and none other than Kang Younghyun himself had sat down next to you. He smelled like beer and  cologne you couldnât place, and you realized heâd dyed his hair blond for the summer. He had a black bandana to push the long strands away from his eyes. You wondered why he didnât just get a haircut.Â
âHey, Y/N,â heâd greeted. He had a killer smile, you had to give him that. âDidnât expect to see you here.â
âYeah,â you replied. âI didnât either.â Younghyun had laughed at that, and you shouldâve known â those butterflies in your stomach were warning you to fly far, far away.
It was a whirlwind summer. Young K took you to bars where he and his band were going to play, kept you under his arm at gigs until eventually your body was replaced by his bass. Sometimes he sang and you forgot all about his reputation when you saw the way his eyes glittered.Â
You didnât tell anyone. Not because he would care if you did, because he wouldnât, but because you had a reputation to uphold. You tried to convince yourself that Younghyun was just a bit of fun to pass the time, that all the kisses shared in seedy allies and the backseat of his car meant absolutely nothing to you â just fun.Â
Except it wasnât fun.Â
It wasnât fun when you saw other girls eyeing him, and sometimes you caught him eyeing them back. It wasnât fun when he wouldnât come around till night and you had to sneak out of your house.Â
It wasnât fun, and yet something about it was addictive. Maybe it was his eyes, or his lips, or the way he sometimes breathed your name when nobody else would hear him. You swear sometimes you saw light in those eyes, sometimes you saw stars, sometimes you saw the whole damn universe.Â
And sometimes, you saw nothing at all.Â
Thatâs how Younghyun looks at you now. When you pass him in the hallways, his eyes are always glassy like marbles, devoid of life. Itâs for the best, you tell yourself, and yet sometimes you look at him and your breath catches in your throat â you think of all the times you heard your name in his honey-coated voice, all the minutes spent, wasted, with your mouth pressed against his as if he were oxygen.Â
He thinks heâs a god. The whole band of boys thinks that. But youâve seen him in the daylight, when he couldnât seem to drag himself out of your bed soon enough. Theyâre nothing but devils, the lot of them.Â
And yet if you had to do the summer over, you wouldnât change a thing.
[9:30pm] You were sitting in the living room watching your usual tv programmes whilst you waited for boyfriend!Brian to come home from work. He has been really stressed out lately and you were worring about him; he was talking and smiling a lot less. You had even panicked at thought that he wasnât happy in this relationship anymore but you were proved wrong everytime Brian would drag you to bed and he would ask you to talk about your day as he loved listening to your voice and the endless âI love youâs he would say at night before he fell asleep.
Brian had texted you saying he was on his way home and you started to grow nervous, you werenât sure why you just had a feeling something was wrong. You sat picking at your fingers as you impatiently waited for his return.
The front door opened softly and was closed very gently as you saw Brain trudge through into the living room, his head was hanging low and sniffles could be heard. You made your way towards him with a pout on your face.
You said nothing as you cupped his face in your hands and lifted his head to be met with his tear stained face. You pulled him towards you into a warm and loving hug as he snuggled his head into the crook of your neck, his sniffles increasing.
âIâm so proud of you, I know how tough things have been lately but I am so unbelievably proud of how hard you work and how strong you are.â You say rubbing your hand up and down his back in an attempt to comfort him. You lift his head from the crook of your neck and make him look at you as you place a gentle kiss on his lips.

A Day6 collab series with the lovely @cramelot đ
Genre: College & Soulmate!AU
Pairing: Brian x You
By Admin B
Part 1, 2
Since the Halloween party had been a success, Brian had been thinking of other ways to get Day6 out there. Other ways they could showcase their music, try out the new songs they were writing, attract a new audience.
They couldnât just keep doing coffee shop gigs and uploading band practice videos on YouTube.
I mean, they could and they would, but they shouldnât keep doing only that.
An idea didnât come to him until almost mid-January, though, after the crazy hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
Plus, both Jae and Sungjin had been a little less occupied with the band and a little more occupied with their new(ish) girlfriends.
Although... it was safe to say they were more than that.
It hadnât been a coincidence that Jae had suddenly started seeing in color when he met the girl he was now madly in love with (and, in turn, black and white had been added to her own vision color spectrum, so to deny the fact they were soulmates would just be silly!).
And Sungjinâs absolute adoration for anything his own girlfriend/soulmate cooked or baked... I mean, honestly, it wasnât a sure sign they were soulmates because the guy had always loved food. But he (and his girlfriend) both insisted the food the other one made was just better than normal, so Brian took his word for it.
He was happy for both of them, truly. Jae and Sungjin were two of his best friends, and he wanted nothing more than for them to be happy. (False: he wanted nothing more than to annoy the crap out of them, but in a loving way, but we donât have to count that.)
...He would be lying just a little if he said it wasnât just a tiny bit annoying that their main focus was no longer 100% on the band, though. Many times in the past several months, heâd asked for input on lyrics or melodies or ideas for performances, but they had been too distracted with their love lives to be of any actual help.
I mean, except for the fact Jae had contributed some really nice lyrics for a love song. Brian had almost 100% decided on calling the song âHi Helloâ but he still wasnât ready to make a decision; it was about meeting someone for the first time and suddenly not being strangers anymore.
Jae, obviously, had some quite recent experience with that. Brian, on the other hand, was writing from his imagination.
Maybe thatâs why he felt the song wasnât ready just yet...
But, anyway. Back to the idea he had in mid-January.
âWhat if we just set up our instruments outside and do a set?â he asked the guys during one of their rare dinners together at the house.Â
These days, either Sungjin, Jae, or both usually ate with their lady loves. (Sungjin, most definitely, preferred to, but that was understandable.)
â...Sing outside?â Jae asked with one raised brow. âItâs January. Itâs freezing.â
âYeah, but itâs unexpected. And you know nobody else will be doing it,â Brian pointed out.
âNobodyâs going to want to stop and listen because theyâll be too cold. Or too busy, on their way to class,â Sungjin countered in-between bites.
Brian was about to retort with a semi-snarky remark about nobody else coming up with any other ideas, but Wonpil spoke before he had the chance.
âIâm down,â he stated, lifting his shoulders into a small shrug. âI think itâll be fun.â
âYeah,â Dowoon agreed. âSomething weâve never done before.â
âWe can only play a few songs if youâre that worried about freezing to death,â Brian smirked.
âYo, shut up, dude,â Jae tsked, trying to hide an embarrassed blush.
âWhen were you thinking?â Sungjin asked.
âCan we do it this weekend?â Wonpil pleaded, letting it be known with his slightly whiny tone that he had quickly adopted the idea and was now desperate to do it.
âNo oneâs on campus during the weekend.â Jae rolled his eyes before reaching out and thwapping the back of Wonpilâs head.
âFriday, then,â Brian suggested as Wonpil reached around to nurse his stinging cranium.
Sungjin opened his mouth to say something, and Brian just knew he was going to say he had plans with his girlfriend on Friday. He threw his friend a Look, though, and Sungjinâs mouth quickly formed into a forced smile.
âFriday afternoon works for me,â Sungjin said instead. âMy last class ends at 3.â
Everyone else confirmed they were done with classes either before or around then, so they decided to meet at the house at 3:30 and set up on the North Quad around 4pm.
As Brian and Dowoon began cleaning up after dinner, Brian had to admit that he felt... he didnât want to say âupliftedâ because that made it seem like he was discouraged or depressed about his current situation.
And he wasnât at all!
But, still. He felt like things were back to the old days as far as the band went. Except not really because they really had come so far in turning things around since Battle of the Bands over six months ago. But you know what I mean!
âAll right, Friday at 3:30, yeah?â Jae asked as he grabbed a coat from the hall closet.
âFriday at 3:30,â Brian confirmed. He carefully handed a freshly washed dish to Dowoon who dried it off with a towel and set it in the dish drain.
âFriday, 3:30,â Jae repeated, sliding his coat on and reaching for his keys on the key hook.
âWait, where are you going?â Brian asked, his brow furrowed. âWe should probably start rehearsing for that.â
âIâve got studying, bro,â Jae told him.
Brian pursed his lips in slight annoyance. âJae, the semester just started. Thereâs no way you already have an exam.â
Jae paused for a few moments... and then he rolled his eyes in a sort of guilty way. âOkay, fine, Iâm going to study my girlfriendâs face. Sue me. We can rehearse tomorrow!â
Brian opened his mouth to issue a rebuttal, but Jae had hurried to the door and fled before he had the chance.
Sungjin, who was standing behind a chair at the kitchen table, began drumming his fingers on the seatback. His facial expression was that of someone who was trying to be cool and casual but also trying to be obvious. He might as well have been whistling a suspiciously jaunty tune.
With a soft sigh, Brian shifted his gaze from the plate he was scrubbing over to his slightly older friend.
âGo ahead, then,â he murmured. âWeâre rehearsing tomorrow. Go have some dessert with your soulmate.â
A smile split Sungjinâs face, and he rushed to grab his own coat from the closet in the hallway.
âSee you guys!â he called out as he dashed toward the door.
As Brian and Dowoon continued to do the dishes, Wonpil leaned against the kitchen counter, resting his elbow on the granite surface and setting his chin in his palm. A dramatically mournful sigh escaped his lips, and he waited until Brian looked over at him to voice his thoughts.
âWhen are we going to find our soulmates?â he asked pitifully.
Brian let a tiny smirk tug at his lips, and he shook his head. âThe whole point is that we donât know,â he reminded the sweet but sometimes naive keyboard player.
Wonpil pouted slightly and let out yet another sigh. âYeah, I know. But still. Arenât you lonely?â
Brian shrugged as he handed Dowoon a clean glass to dry. âNot really. Iâm focused on our music. That keeps me company plenty.â
He just wished all of his bandmates were the same way...
By the time Friday afternoon rolled around, the guys had managed to get in a few rehearsals - at least, enough to be fully prepared to perform four songs out in the most crowded area of campus in near-freezing temperatures.
As agreed, they all met up at the house at 3:30 and began to gather up their instruments in both Jaeâs and Sungjinâs cars. The two guitarists took their acoustics, Wonpil lugged his keyboard, Dowoon brought along the wooden box he used in lieu of actual drums, and Brian simply brought all the microphones.
Brian didnât own an acoustic version of a bass guitar, so whenever they decided to perform a song scaled-down and raw, he simply used his voice as his instrument.
Sungjin led the way with Dowoon and Wonpil in his car, Jae following up with Brian in the passenger seat.Â
âHowâs that song going?â Jae asked as he turned onto the main road toward North campus.
âWhich song?â Brian murmured absently. He was already getting into the performance zone, and his mind was on the four songs they would be singing.
âThe one youâve been working on for a while. About the moment you stop being strangers with someone?â
âOh, yeah, that one. I...â Brian inhaled sharply, quizzically. âI donât know. I just canât seem to finish it. It doesnât seem quite right yet.â
Jae scoffed and glanced over at Brian with an overly offended expression. âDude, I helped with some of those lyrics. What do you mean it doesnât seem quite right?!â
Brian smirked a little, letting out a soft âyouâre something else, Jaeâ chuckle. âItâs not your part Iâm having trouble with. Itâs mine.â
âThatâs because you havenât met anyone lately.â Jae briefly took one hand off the steering wheel and reached over to nudge Brianâs shoulder. âYou need to get out more. Sungjin and I have met our soulmates...â
âNot because you were looking for them,â Brian pointed out. âBesides, you know I donât need to write lyrics from experience. Let me just sit on that song for a while longer. Something will come to me.â
âAll right,â Jae sighed. âWhatever you say.â
They drove the rest of the way in silence, arriving by the quad only five minutes later. Jae parked next to Sungjin, and all of them began unloading instruments and sound equipment.
The frigid air spurred them on to set things up more quickly than they usually did, and it wasnât even 4 oâclock when Wonpil stepped up to his keyboard and began to play the opening notes of the first song theyâd chosen to perform.
Jae had barely sung one line before people walking by noticeably slowed their steps. Of course, Jae and Sungjinâs girlfriends were already there forming a two-person audience, but it had grown to a substantial handful of people by the time they got to the first chorus.
As Brian began to sing his part of the bridge, he noticed someone coming to stand next to Jaeâs girlfriend at the very front. Instinctively, his eyes locked with yours, and...Â
Why were you staring at him like that?
And why was there something so familiar about you?
He had definitely never seen you before (trust me, he would have recognized your face), but he just had a very eerie feeling that he already knew you?
For some reason, he figured you would leave after the first song.
But you were still there as they sang the second... the third... the fourth and final song.
And you still had that look on your face. Come to think of it, you looked kind of how Brian felt. You were gazing at him with a clear question in your eyes: Do I know you?
As the crowd applauded and cheered after they finished the fourth song, Brian heard Sungjin explaining who they were and why they were out here singing in the freezing cold. He asked everyone to introduce themselves, and after Brian greeted everyone with a smile and a wave, he set his microphone down and stood.
There was no way he was going to let another minute go by without talking to you. He had to figure out why you seemed so familiar.
Your eyes widened slightly as he headed toward you, and Brian tried his best to look friendly rather than seriously curious. The last thing he wanted to do was scare you away.
âHi...â Brian said a bit cautiously once he was close enough to you. âIâm sorry, but I couldnât help but notice...â
He tilted his head slightly as your eyes gazed up into his, your eyebrows raised and wrinkling your forehead. It was just so weird that he had absolutely no idea who you were, but still had the unquestionable urge to ask:
A/N: okay i loved writing this because freddie was such an incredible unapologetic man that was proud to be himself. i hope that i did him and this request justice
Pairing: Freddie Mercury x Reader ((gender neutral))
Freddieâs arm around their shoulders provided a warm comfort to Y/N as they walked through the streets of London, a cigarette resting between his pointer and middle finger while talking quickly; a smile resting coyly on Y/Nâs lips.Â
âIâm so excited about this darling. Youâre gonna look hot.âÂ
Y/N laughed loudly while covering their mouth, a flush settling prettily on their cheeks at the brashness and openness of the compliment.Â
âYou think so?âÂ
Freddie stopped walking and turned Y/N to face him, taking in their rosy cheeks and bottom lip caught between their teeth; a flutter in his chest making him feel light and lovely.
âI know so love.âÂ
The soft breeze felt wonderful on both Y/N and Freddieâs skin as they continued to walk, Freddie quick to intertwine his fingers through Y/Nâs before bringing the tangle up to his mouth and pressing a kiss to the back of their hand.Â
--
The bell twinkled as Freddie and Y/N walked through the door to the store, the soft thump of music created a backing track as other customers browsed and talked; the shop assistants floating around and helping.Â
Freddie wrapped an arm around Y/Nâs waist and held them close, kissing their temple while they took in everything before being drawn to the male section. The pair began to walk through the shop then, hands intertwined and Freddieâs soft voice washing over them in a way that calmed their heart and brought pretty heat to their cheeks. Y/Nâs fingers traced over the hung t-shirt button ups, soft to the touch and pretty to the eye; quick to pick up the ones they liked before moving along to trousers and jeans.Â
Y/N ran a hand through their hair as Freddie lazily looked at the pants, long fingers curling on the material as he took a closer look; the black nail polish and rings giving him an unbothered yet put together look at made Y/N breathless yet yearning to be able to be so comfortable. Freddie nodded his head along to the music as he picked out pants that he thought would look good on Y/N, tapping his fingers every once in a while against the clothing rack and causing Y/N to be overcome with an overwhelming urge to kiss his cheek so thatâs what they did.Â
âWhat was that for darling?âÂ
âI donât know. I just couldnât help it.âÂ
Freddieâs laugh along with a soft mutter of âcheekyâ had Y/Nâs cheeks flaring a pretty rose colour, a giggle leaving their lips as they looked away which caused them to become unaware of how Freddie was staring at them as if they hung every stare in the sky.Â
âCan I help you two with anything?âÂ
The voice of the shop assistant caught Y/N and Freddie attention as they continued to giggle, the lady calm with a serene smile on her face until she caught sight of the clothes in Y/Nâs arms.Â
âI think youâre in the wrong section. The female side of the store would be more suited to your needs Iâm sure. Iâm sure youâll be able to find something lovely to make you look more feminine.âÂ
The shop assistants voice was calm but the underlying malicious intent was obvious, Y/Nâs stomach feeling like it had dropped quickly while their heart felt like it had been dropped in a bucket of ice water. It was a shock to Freddie that the lady in front of him and Y/N had the audacity to insult them in such a blatant way, his eyes travelling from the employee to Y/N and taking in the way that their hands were shaking and their cheeks and neck were bright red due to embarrassment; their eyes unfocused and glassy.Â
âIâm sorry but whatâs your name?âÂ
The sales assistant looked slightly startled for a moment at the question before she regained her composure and answered.Â
âMy name is Adele.âÂ
âAdele I donât know where you think you have the right to insult a customer and also my best friend that is trying to find clothing that makes them feel comfortable and good about themselves, acting as if youâre superior just because you conform to what society dictates. Iâm honestly ashamed that you had the audacity to come over to us while we were looking and inserting yourself in something that is none of your business and giving your opinion when honestly no one asked or wanted it in the first place. Maybe you should just but out and go help people that want to have you hover and give unnecessary snide remarks, we are fine here by ourselves.âÂ
Freddieâs voice was calm and polite during the ordeal, not letting his eyes stray from Adeleâs as he took a deep breath after the final word left his lips and watched as the sales assistant went red and looked stunned; her mouth open and closing a few times before clearing her throat.Â
âI-Iâm sorry about what I said. If either of you n-need help just give a-a shout and someone will be glad to h-help.âÂ
Adele left quickly to the other side of the store to assist some women on the other side of the store that were looking slightly lost, Y/Nâs bottom lip between their teeth when Freddie turned to look at them.Â
âAre you okay darling?âÂ
His arms wrapped around their waist and held them close before leaving a soft yet lingering kiss on Y/Nâs forehead, a soft feeling blossoming in their chest as if an ethereal garden began to grow. A rogue tear fell from Y/Nâs left eye and kissed their cheek before Freddieâs thumb softly wiped it away, cradling their face delicately and brushing his thumbs smoothly over the apples of Y/Nâs cheeks.Â
âY-Yeah Iâm f-fine. Thank you so much for standing up for me.âÂ
Y/N leaned into the touch, pressing a soft kiss to Freddieâs palm before stepping away and walking towards the change rooms, their fingers clutching the shirts in their hands. Freddie followed behind in a way that had some of the women on the other side of the store captivated, reaching Y/N and grabbing their hand gently.Â
