Infawn are mischievous little pokemon that dwell in forests and away from humans. Their hardened carapace makes them surprisingly durable and can be heard clanging together as they run away from the victims of their pranks. Despite this naughty streak, they are good natured and friendly if coaxed into social situations. Armyr continue to reside in the deep woods fo Bretlan and continue to avoid contact. Not as innocent as Infawn, they are more interested in repelling intruders from their forest home but continue to do so with traps and pranks, rather than outright violence. Nimble despite their metallic armour, they have learned to move more quietly than Infawn. Valiknight are determined pokemon and dutiful to their ideals. In the wild they prevent all intruders from entering their forests, using none lethal force until otherwise necessary. Whn trained by humans, their nature makes them excellent guards and soldiers, with records persisting of Valiknght fighting side by side with human knights during ancient wars. — Ability Info — — Attack Info —

Diverting from Tresto for a moment to revist one of the earliest pokemon from Bretlan. The drawing for these guys was so old that the redraw I did was still one of the oldest I have. In Bretlan your starter would be a fossil so to tide you over, the catch tutorial is actually the first pokemon you'd have actively in your party and would be the pokemon weakest to your starter (so in this case you picked grass). After the tutorial they would be naturally occuring early game pokemon that you can catch as normal. Ovole aren't capable swimmers but float well. They are always found near water, but typically cling to the river bank. Any attempt ot swim usually results ina gentle float downstream. Being such poor swimmers, Ovole are looked after by their parents until they are ready to evolve and whilst restricted to foraging by the waterside, their parents supplement their diets with the bounty of the river Lutriver have developed strong tails and sinuous bodies which equips them perfectly for a life spent swimming. Upon evolving, many migrate to the ocean and begin life anew but there are still sizeable communities in the rivers of Bretlan. Lutriver are popular beginner pokemon in Bretlan for their playful nature and cute demeanor but are capable in battle too, being both agile and adaptable. --Attack Info-- --Ability Info--

It'd been on my mind for a while that I wanted to redo my oldest Fire starter, as it was showing its age a little. Mostly proportional tweaks but I have clearly learned alot about colouring things since then.

The first of my regional forms to cross over to Bretlan from Auzz. Hecaterra was inspired by Fern Gully as a reverse Hexxus and reversing that reversal gives us this gooey lady. Wiccatot in Bretlan are as ornery as their Auzzie counterparts but are much more willing to come into conflict with humans, relishing in the by-products of their industrious nature. They live in a pile of sludge that they use to move around and will ignite its fumes once in a suitable spot, rendering them safe from interference as they soak up any available toxins. Brettish Hecaterra are incredibly dangerous and try to rule over anywhere with enough toxic waste, happily coming into conflict with humans and capable of detonating an entire industrial complex if it means it gets its way. How this species exists in the wild is uknown as they are rare enough as is but it’s hypothesised they may have evolved in direct response to mans industrialisation. Shading messed this guy up a little bit. This guy also caused me to overwrite the sai file for the base Kirinar family which was a bummer. Anyway, went for a night sky theme for this one and it’s one of those special shinies where I add a bit of patterning to the base design. I imagine in canon the black horn of a Kirinar would be an even rarer treasure than the standard horn and its colour would denote a much stronger power over winter and night, at least according to legend. Originally an old evo for Castform, this idea was retooled for Bretlan into something that could stand on its own. The idea here is that the regular form has Forecast as a hidden ability, allowing it to change form. The other forms however no longer have Forecast as an ability and thus are unable to change back, locking themselves into their own weather-setting forms permenantly. Thermonitor are highly adaptable pokemon, changing to best suit the environment they live in. Typically seen at high altitudes in their base form; as they descend below the cloudline they become subject to weather and climate. These changes are instigated by the fluids that fill a Thermonitors body and by responding to temperature and humidity, affect the appearance of the water that lines their outer surface. Although they don’t learn many elemental moves naturally, they would have a broad range of TMs and tutor moves that would allow them to build for any weather. They even get a signature move “Shepherds Delight” which i’m pretty pleased with. — Ability Info —  — Attack Info —

Ceenesscular is a pokemon that has reduced its body to the bare essentials; bundles of muscle with which to fight and a brain and a heart to ensure those muscles work. With no other organs to worry about, the delay between thinking and doing are lightning quick and a Ceenesscular has reflexes faster than near enough any other pokemon. Reducing its body even further, with only its gargantuan brain and even more bundles of muscle, a Ceenessensei can overwhelm opponents with rapid strikes and excellent prediction. Being little more than an exposed brain they are actually quite delicate, proving to be all the more reason to out-predict and overcome a foe as quickly as possible. Last of my Fossils to receive a touch-up, charting the evolution of ancient whales. Pakkur still doesn’t look great, and might look worse actually but the other two have really benefitted from a revisit. I like old Zeuglong’s longer body but overall I think the change has done it good. It’s got a killer shiny now, too. Despite a resemblance to the many species of dog pokemon, Pakkur are in fact more closely related to Spoink. This becomes more obvious when looking at their feet, which sport hooves and allow Pakkur to travel faster on land than its adult counterparts. Nevertheless, Pakkur are competent swimmers with superb underwater hearing, which they uses to locate prey both above and below the waterline. Ambulurk are lazy pokemon that prefer to let prey come to them. Strong jaws and quick reactions are all it needs to catch hapless prey; bursting forward with a flick of its powerful tail. Away from rivers and lakes in open water an Ambulurk will tend towards a more active lifestyle where they have to pursue fish, good practice before migrating out to sea to evolve. They make this journey as their freshwater homes would leave space at a premium once they evolve further. These enormous pokemon often spend their entire life at sea though short, sturdy legs can still carry them across land. Active hunters they attack anything smaller than themselves (which is pretty much everything) and may even attempt to hunt Wailord provided their pod isn't too large. When their fossil of Zeuglong were first discovered they were thought to be the bones of a gigantic sea dragon and scientists were surprised to see a small dog-like pokemon upon resurrecting them. --Ability Index-- --Attack Index--
