It's Never Too Early || Stella & Brendan
Brendan came home from university exhausted. He came into the house unwillingly, because he didn't want to walk anymore. He saw Stella, and pecked her on the cheek. Brendan then proceeded to sit down on the couch.
Stella smiled wide, as she saw her fiance trudge into the house, smiling even wider as he pecked her on the cheek. "Hi, babe!" She grinned, closing the last page of the wedding magazine that she had picked up from the bridal shop before. She grabbed another one, and began to look at each page with concentration. "Sooo, I've been thinking...about the wedding." Her smile was ear to ear when she looked up from her magazine momentarily to look at him, then looked back at the romanticized pages.
Brendan rubbed his right temple in his exhaustion. He had two term papers due, and both had to be about twenty pages. Brendan replied, " Hello love." He didn't even bother to look up, and instead laid flat on his stomach horizontally on the couch. The moment Brendan heard the word 'wedding', his eyes widened and his head shot up looking at Stella. " The wedding?"
Stella was slightly confused, yet amused at his reaction. She giggled and responded, "Yeah, the wedding...Like, for colors I really like something soft like light green, cream, and brown, yet I also really love the idea of bright pink and orange. Something that pops! But it all depends what season, right? Cause I don't want anything too bright for a winter wedding, but something soft can also work for a spring wedding, get it?"
Brendan sat up knowing that's the reaction Stella wanted. He closed his mouth tight trying to formulate a reply. Brendan then closed his eyes finally saying, " Do we really have to plan it NOW? I mean, I'm just a freshman in college Stells."
Stella pouted slightly, "Brenny." She stood up and walked over to him, climbing on his back and sitting on him. The magazine was still in her hand as she opened it up and put it so they could both read it. "Look at all of this stuff we need to do, though. Colors, flowers, venues, SEASONS. We don't even have a date picked out!" She pouted and leaned down kissing behind his ear softly, "It's never too early to start."
Brendan rolled his eyes. He looped his arms around her waist kissing her shoulder. Brendan heard all of the wedding terms, and he couldn't help but want to stab himself in the stomach. He was a guy, and thinking about the wedding made him suck because of all the planning that was required. Brendan sighed loudly. " I think four years is a little early, Stells."
Stella "It's never too early to start," she replied for emphasis. She could tell he wasn't going to be into the planning all that much. To be honest, it kind of made her upset that he wasn't as into it as she was. But she was a pusher. So she'd try any way she could, hoping at one moment he'd finally be okay with it. "I mean, look," she said, opening the magazine to another page. "Don't you see anything you like at all? Even if this year we just make a poster board or something of things we like."
Brendan: Brendan rolled his eyes again at her. He knew that this was a special day for Stella, but he just wasn't all into planning weddings. That was for girls, not for guys, especially not Brendan. He looked at her, " Really? A poster board? Are we costume crew?" Brendan chuckled then took a look at the magazine. Leafing through the pages, the idea of a wedding was highly romanticized. He spoke, " I like blue."
Stella smacked his shoulder at his remark about her poster board, "No, we're well planned adults. And we're going to look through these magazines until our fingers bleed if that means my mother stops calling me, telling me I'm making a mistake marrying you because we're "both too childish for such a big step in our relationship'." She knew already that she was going to be a major bridezilla, and she felt like she needed to apologize to Brendan, Kat, and Michael for it ahead of time. "Blue. Yes. Blue is nice," she smiled wide like a etiquette couselor breaking through a thick skinned male, "Maybe we can do like, navy blue and coral pink, or like, sapphire blue and ruby red."
Brendan laughed. He shook his head, " Alright, alright fine. If that makes you happy, we will look at these magazines day and night. I like navy blue and coral pink. Navy blue is my favorite color." Brendan nodded finally able to connect with the wedding in some way.
Stella clapped as he finally agreed with her. "Oh, that'll be so pretty!" She kissed his cheek, looking at the magazine with him. "It'll be like, really nautical themed. So I'm thinking maybe on a beach? Shoot, but then there'll be sand everywhere. And I don't want sand all over my dress." She pursed her lips, looking some more and resting her head on his shoulder.
Brendan chuckled. " Beach?"
Stella laughed, "Fine. Maybe not on a beach. Um...On a boat? A cruise ship?" She smiled ear to ear at the thought of that.
Brendan frowned. " I get sea sick." He then mimicked what would happen at their wedding. He straightened his posture and fixed his imaginary tie, " I--" he then mimicked throwing up. "And I would throw up all over your shoes."
Stella pouted a bit, "No cruise ship, then. Destination Wedding: a no go." She giggled, "Well, we'll think of a venue later. I'm gonna guess Mikey is gonna be your best man?" She smiled looking up at him.
Brendan looked at her like really? He replied, " Come on. Who else?"
Stella "Y'know, Stanley down the street." She joked, sticking her tongue out at him.
Brendan rolled his eyes, " Who the hell is Stanley?" Brendan then smiled wrapping his arms around her tighter, " Of course Mikey will be our best man. Kat will be our maid of honor?"
Stella "The guy I sleep with when you're at college," she teased cuddling into him. "Who else? Kat is my girl." She giggled. "Now, what kind of dress do you imagine me wearing when I walk down the aisle?" She smiled wide, kissing his cheek.
Brendan glared at her. He rolled his eyes. The whole thing with Mikey still made Brendan somewhat angry. He softly laughed, " Good good. Hmm..." Brendan mimicked a deep think, and then replied, " A white dress with a massive train."
Stella "Like Princess Diana?" She raised an eyebrow. "Not too massive. What I don't have in dress I can make up for in a second veil. Cathedral length, possibly." She said, showing him a picture of a cathedral length veil.
Brendan nodded. He remember Aunt Lucille showing him and Mikey pictures of her when they were younger. Brendan replied, " Anything you want sweetheart. As extravagant or simple as you want. Your wish is my command."
Stella "But you've got to want it, too, babe." She said with sincere smile, kissing his cheek. "This is our wedding. Not just mine. We're getting married, and we're gonna make a proper fucking shindig out of it." She kissed him fully on the lips, putting as much passion as she could into it.
Brendan grinned, " I want you to be happy, so anything you want is just fine." Brendan kissed her back tangling his fingers in her hair.
Stella "Fine then, I want a circus! Elephants in tutus and waltzing giraffes and a tiger at the alter!" She joked, laughing and holding his hands. "Eighteen red velvet eight layer cakes with only the most decadent chocolate filling, and champagne with diamonds in the glasses to wash it down!" She giggled at her extravagance.
Brendan cocked his head to the side watching Stella. " Who are you marrying? A ring master? Jesus Christ.. You still have to be practical, silly." Brendan tapped her nose, and rubbed them together with a huge smile on his face.
Stella giggled rubbing her nose with his in an eskimo kiss. "But seriously, though, we need some sort of red velvet cake. You know how much I love red velvet cake." She held his hands tight against her. "And some fresh wine wouldn't kill us, either."
Brendan nodded, " I agree. Red velvet is pretty delicious. Can there be vanilla too? Chocolate makes me sick." He leaned on her shoulder keeping his lips on it. Brendan nodded, " Open bar most definitely."
Stella "Everything makes you sick," she turned her head slightly to kiss his nose, "But yes, we can have vanilla, too. But remember we have to sample other cake flavors before we make a decision. For all we know, we might like....pumpkin greenbean truffle." She laughed, exaggerating. "Open bar...specialty mixed drinks? The...Brendan Bomber, Stella Slash, and Gray Tuxedo." Her drink names made her giggle as well.
Brendan rolled his eyes, " I'm sorry! It isn't my fault I had a deprived childhood. Oh god, what the fuck is that?" After hearing that flavor, a smile spread on his face. nodded vigorously, " Definitely."
Stella set the magazine down and turned around so she was looking at him. "This sounds like a pretty bangin' bash. Will I see you there?" She grinned, pressing her forehead to his.
Brendan beamed at her. He then spoke in his lower husky voice, " I'll be the handsome one down the aisle."
Stella "Good. I'll be the one in the white dress, bawling her eyes out when she realizes she's actually getting to marry the man she loves. After four fucking whole years." She chuckled, her hands on his chest.
Brendan " Don't cry. I'll cry if you cry, and that's no fun." Brendan held her forearms. Brendan replied, " And I'll get to marry the only woman I ever loved."
Stella felt herself tearing up already, just hearing him say that. "Then, we can start a family. Make itty bitty little Grays that'll cry, and scream, and throw tantrums, but let's face it, we'll love 'em anyways. We'll love 'em cause they'll be ours. And we'll finally have the family we've always dreamed of having." Just as she finished her little sentence, she felt herself full on crying. Happily, though.
Brendan had a huge smile on his face. Thinking about having children made Brendan strangely happy. " We'll be able to fuck them up in their own special way. And sure, they won't have a grandpa or even a grandma at least on the Gray side, but they'll have the best damn uncle in the world."
Stella "And you think the'll have one on the Taylor side?...Well, they'll have their grandma when she's done being a alcoholic wash-rag." She leaned in, wiping her tears off on his shirt. "...My dad wants to come to the wedding..." She figured now was the best time to say it, for some reason. Talking about their families and whatnot.
Brendan shrugged, " Who needs grandparents? They'll have an aunt and uncle, and us. They don't need that extra fancy stuff." Brendan rubbed Stella's back noticing her crying, and wiping the stray tears off of her face. When Brendan heard Stella talk about her dad, he quickly was taken aback. Brendan asked, " What?"
Stella sighed, trying to catch her breath from the crying, "He wants to come to the wedding. Walk me down the aisle and hand me off, or whatever..." She shrugged, not exactly sure how she felt about that.
Brendan shook his head. " No. No. That guy is not coming to our wedding. Shit, Mikey will walk you down the aisle or even Kat. I don't care, he's not coming to our wedding."
Stella "Bren, I think this is the first time he wants to see me without asking for money...Maybe he wants to be in my life, now." She shook her head softly, "I don't know..."
Brendan shook his head again. He then moved away from Stella facing her, " No. I'm not letting him come into our lives to fuck with you. I'm not letting that happen."
Stella just nodded softly. "Okay, babe. I'll tell him he can't come." She held Brendan's hand, squeezing it gently. "I love you. And this wedding is going to be worth the wait."
Brendan gave her a soft smile. He didn't want him messing up him and Stella's life together. Brendan wasn't going to let anybody mess them up. He replied, " I love you too. I think so too."
Stella sighed contently, turning her mind away from all of that wedding stuff for now. "How's university, big guy?" She smiled, putting her hands under his shirt. She placed a small kiss on his jaw, before pulling his shirt up and over his head.
Brendan grinned back at her. He helped Stella take off his shirt by raising his arms. Brendan replied trying to stay calm, " I have two big term papers due. Both have to be twenty pages, but other than that, I'm fine. How about you? How's...hanging out with my brother and Kat?"
Stella laughed at his opposing question, "I don't know, ask them...They're always in their room, so I don't see them much." She giggled slightly, "Buuut, being alone all this time, gives me time to do things." She got off his lap, running to the kitchen, "Liiiiiike...." She ran back out of the kitchen, holding a tray of cupcakes with swirled icing on top, "BAKE!" She set the tray of cupcakes on the table and grabbed one, sitting back on Brendan's lap before sticking the frosted cupcake to his lips.
Brendan: Brendan widened his eyes, " Big brother get some!" He cheered jokingly. In all honesty, Brendan was happy he had found Kat. Mikey deserved it. Brendan then watched Stella, and he chuckled when she yelled bake. Brendan commented, " Delicious!" He then tasted it and nodded. " These are really good, Stells!"
Stella "I stand in the kitchen all day, watching stupid YouTube baking commercials --and by the way, I ordered some fancy baking stuff online--" She added in subtly before continuing on, "And it's really fun! I really like it!" She moved over slightly so he could see the designs of the cupcakes , each with a different colored rose on them. "I went out and got this tip thing to make 'em look like that with the icing."
Brendan listened to her ramble on about baking. He was happy Stella finally found something she loved. Brendan was at university all day, and he wasn't there to keep Stella entertained. At least she had something. Brendan replied cheerily, " I'm happy you found something you love, Stells. And," He grabbed the cupcake from her hands, " It's delicious."
Stella "I sound like a grandma, all about baking...But it's true. Plus, I like seeing your face when you try them." She giggled, wiping a stray bit of icing off of the corner of Brendan's mouth with her thumb, licking it off. "I think I'm gonna fatten you up. When you get home from class, I'm going to show you all of the little cakes I make, and see if you like them. You'll have something new to try every day."
Brendan chuckled, " It's okay. I never had a grandma, so it's all good." He couldn't help but smile when she took the icing off of his mouth. Brendan started to nod enthusiastically, " Oh I would love that."
Stella "I figured you would." She giggled and kissed him, feeling the sweet of the icing on her lips. "So now we both have our own things to do, yeah?" She kissed his nose. "You're gonna be the best lawyer in history, and I'll be motherfucking cake-boss."
Brendan nodded, " You can be the female Buddy Velasco, and I can be better than the Kardashians' dad. We all know OJ did it."
Stella laughed, nodding. "Yup. Buddy and Rob Kardashian."
Brendan chuckled, " Definitely. We'll be the new power couple."
Stella pushed him down on the couch, climbing on top of him and kissing him, "So, when are those papers do?" She started kissing his neck, suckling every once in a while on a certain spot, while waiting for him to speak.
Brendan felt his breath literally being taken away by Stella. He bit his lip, and kept his breathing steady. Brendan stuttered out, " A-At the end of t-the term."
Stella felt up his chest, smiling, before letting her index and middle finger 'walk' back down, "So you have time, yeah?" She bit her bottom lip in her smile.
Brendan nodded slowly and breathed out, " Sure."
Stella "Good," She smirked, getting up slowly and giving him 'the look'. She got off of him and sighed, picking up a cupcake, "Cause y'know, your baby Stella has been feeling awfully lonely, lately." She picked up some icing with her index finger, sucking it off sexily.
Brendan tried to maintain his breathing, but was slowly failing. He sighed, " Mm."
Stella "So, whaddya say? Wanna play with me?" She walked over to him, swiping icing over his sweet spot before putting her tongue flush to his skin and licking it off. "I love you..."
Brendan let out a soft moan. He breathed out, "I love you too." Answer her initial question, he simply nodded.
