I just found a really informative post about the different health problems cat breeds face, sadly tumblr is tumblr and I lost it before I could share it. And one of the listed cat breeds was the Scottish Fold. They tend to have joint issues and athrosis (I might get things slightly wrong here as I struggle with medical terms in english). Many have to be medicated against pain quite early in their life. Ori is 3 years now and has lived that last one with me and the xrays already show first signs of joint problems.
What I'm trying to say is, I can understand seeing cat breeds and wanting them, I'm literally one of you, but if you want a breed that faces special challenges, you need to know what you're getting into. Vet visits can be very expensive without insurance. Also you might want to consider adopting an adult cat, if you question the breeding practice of certain breeds.
This is just me worrying that I'm only showing cute pics but don't talk about other issues. I'll try to tag this post with anything that might nake people uncomfortable. If I ever decide to talk about this again, I'll tag it as #cat health.
Okay, I'll continue posting cute cat pics from now on again. ^^
