NEW THIS MORNING: Binalbagan Man found floating in the sea water of Bacolod at BREDCO Port due to alleged mental disability
BACOLOD, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL -- A man's body was found floating in the sea near BREDCO Port on Tuesday morning (August 13th, 2024 at 7:50am -- Bacolod local time). In an interview with DYQU-FM 103.9mhz's K5 News FM: Bacolod, fishermen locals found the body of a man and immediately reported it to its regional members of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
When PCG personnel arrived at the scene, authorities recovered the body of the man with head injuries, bruises on his left chest and left side. The man was wearing shorts and no outerwear, approximately 5'5 tall, thin, clean cut and approximately 30-35 y/o. The victim's name was yet to be identified. Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) said the victim may have sustained injuries to his head and body from trees and rocks.
Meanwhile, based on the statement of PMaj. Elmer John Bonilla, who is a chief of Bacolod City Police Station 1 (BCPO) that they received information that the victim is a regional resident of Binalbagan town, in this said province of Negros Occidental has a mental disorder.
PMaj. Bonilla said they have already contacted the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station (BMPS) because there was a report previously at the station that a person with a mental disorder is missing. They are trying to contact the family of the missing person to confirm if the victim is the relative they are looking for.
He added that it cannot be said that the victim was intentionally killed because he sustained only bruises in their affected area. Police are now currently investigating the incident within today.
