I think I've finally hit a critical mass with the Skyrim mods and my computer.
Before, I was just pushing it to the point where the game would crash. Now today, twice, I've actually had the entire PC shut itself down when I was trying some high-level stupid shit.
It's hot and humid today, so I wonder if it's either my graphics card overheating, or that I'm running out of RAM. I texted the guy who built the rig to find out if it's set up to turn itself off at either point, because I've never had one actually turn itself off like this before.
Like, it's not crashing. It is literally turning itself off in the middle of stuff, and when I restart, the event logs show no errors. Which tells me it's probably a RAM issue? (As in, nothing is malfunctioning, it's just being blasted into Space).
And before you jerkasses ask, it happened the last time when Immersive Patrols was AI'ing a massive 40-man random battle between Stormcloaks and Imperials, and I thought it would be funny to call down an dwemer orbital laser strike from Trainwiz's Aethernautics: A Space Travel Mod.
I guess the laser strikes account for how many potential targets there are within my range, because everyone immediately aggro'd on me, the screen went almost completely white, and I was being blasted with god knows how many instances of laser blast noises as I spun around and tried to run. That's when my PC shut down.
