For me, the biggest problem with TV Tropes is that even though they claim to celebrate fiction, what they actually do is trivialize it by boiling it down into lists of things that happened. They don't actually analyze the tropes they're categorizing. They see analysis as "natter". They hate analysis so much that they've segregated it into its own rarely-used subsection.
