A savory tart featuring earthy mushrooms, tender leeks, and hearty bread cubes, bound together with a rich custard mixture and baked until golden brown.
Ingredients: 6 cups cubed bread. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 2 cups sliced leeks. 2 cups sliced mushrooms. 6 eggs. 2 cups milk. 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 175F 350C. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat. Put in the mushrooms and leeks, and cook for about 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are soft. Mix the eggs, milk, cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl with a whisk. To the egg mixture, add the bread cubes and the leeks and mushrooms that have been sauted. Stir the ingredients together well. Put the mixture into a tart pan and gently press it down to make it tight. Put it in the oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set. Let it cool down a bit before you serve. Have fun!
