I'm gonna use Braxous from The Tales of Ozoarth for this game as I have been thinking about him a lot.

5 words to physically describe your OC

Imposing, muscular, sharp, scarred, and emotionless.

Who inspired your OC?

No one in particular. My OCs tend to just jump into my brain and demand attention. Braxous is a very old OC as well; over a decade old, and has gone through a lot of changes over the years, so I do not really recall what first inspired him unfortunately.

If I met your OC on the street how would they greet me?

He would not greet you. He tends to keep to the shadows and moves to get from point A to point B. Those who try and greet him tend to be ignored.

Can your OC be your best friend? Why?

Braxous is a loner and although he does have a few friends, he still keeps them at an arm's distance. He avoids getting too close to others as he doesn't want to put those he does care about in danger; either from himself or others.

I MEAN yeah honestly.... everyone who knows me knows I love my OCs and know this is my favorite ship of all time because *starts screaming*

Regarding fic! Honestly I’d be up for people writing me Braxous/Reluz stuff as long as it remains SFW and they’re in character ofc.

What is/are your OC’s nickname(s) and how did it come about?

Hm, Braxous actually doesn’t really have any nicknames that I can think of besides Reluz calling him “dear.” Even growing up his mother didn’t give him a nickname or anything. 

What does your OC normally wear? What would your OC wear on a special night?

I am actually in the process of researching vintage clothing and robes so I can rework the ENTIRETY of the way clothing works in Ozoarth! So please stand by for that!

In Izuktia, he mainly just wore his uniform, which is based heavily on roman armor for the most part. 

Who is the mother and/or father figure in your OC’s life?

Qzin-Curindez is Braxous’ mother and they had a... complicated relationship due to his upbringing and her own PTSD. 

As for a father figure... Braxous would say he’s never had a father, but as a child he looked up to Emperor Taz-Xaln. When he got older, he found an older friend in Huon Talon, a Nuzumian who worked as a detective. 

What does your OC think of children- either in general or about having them?

It’s... complicated. No surprise there. Braxous didn’t really have a childhood so to speak of so seeing young kids be able to just... be kids? Is incredibly uncomfortable for him. He usually relates more to youths who are already criminals or who had poor upbringings. He usually rather works with these kids (being a BAD influence) than anything else and treats them like adults since... in the culture he grew up in, he was considered an adult at 13. 

In general, Braxous thinks he would be a terrible father and on that basis alone doesn’t want kids. 

Who are the people your OC surrounds him/herself with?

Not, uh, good people if we’re being honest. Huon and Reluz are the only really “good” people he tends to be around, but since he’s a criminal, he mainly surrounds himself with other criminals.

He is also somewhat friends with Murin and Nakira. Murin runs his own small bar and also tends to dabble in dealing drugs while Nakira is a sex worker and a stripper (but the former is illegal in The Kiniarth) 

Those two are also complicated people, and tends to fall into more morally gray areas than straight up “are bad.” 

Why does your OC and his/her soulmate work so well together? 

They’re kinda the opposites attract sort of couple and have always been there for each other during the other’s dark days.

Reluz was... well, not Braxous’ first friend technically, but the first after a series of disasters and death. He didn’t want to be her friend at first, didn’t want that closeness, but Reluz is understanding, compassionate, and soft. She also gave him space and was the first to not treat him as if he were vulnerable or dangerous, but equally, and that had a lot of impact on Braxous. 

After they got together? They always try and bring out the best in the other. 

How does your OC react to and handle stress?

Not too bad actually. Since Braxous is stubborn he tends to get really focused on what he is doing. When it comes to familiar stress, he can work with it. Stress in regards to his relationship with Reluz, or stress based on things in the past he can’t handle nearly as well. 

What are some things that annoy your OC?

Only some? aw. 

In general, any sort of authority, loud areas, strip joints and clubs in general (which sucks since a lot of his work is given from those fronts...) the elite also annoy him to a degree? 

From there he also gets frustrated when he has to read or write since he is. Bad at both. Poor guy.  

How easily does your OC forgive?

Braxous doesn’t think he’s in the position to have to forgive anyone, and he believes if anything, others are in the position to forgive him. 

(not that he thinks he deserves forgiveness, however, because he doesn’t.)

What is the general impression your OC gives other people?

Cold, aloof, and dangerous. Best not to talk or even look at him.

Since Braxous is also Izuktian, there are many who dislike him based on that principle alone. 

How emotionally/mentally vulnerable is your OC with other people?

Not. Like, at all? The only person he lets get that close to him as to see his vulnerable side is Reluz (and her mother, I suppose)... and I guess Huon Talon, but yeah. Only those few people. Everyone else he keeps at an arms distance away.

OKAY SO they kinda had a meet-cute... but not exactly a typical one? Basically when Braxous was 18 he was admitted into a mental institution by the state of The Kiniarth. He stayed there for two years as specialists tried to help teach him things such as morality and how to live in a civilized society and manage his mental disorders. 

Reluz, meanwhile was only 15, but knew she wanted to be a therapist. Her mom, Tulia, worked at the same institution that Braxous was staying at and was an alchemist... which, in tToO world, boils down to creating the medications patients take. 

Reluz often volunteered after school at the same hospital. She would work with younger patients and play with some of the children there and such. She often walked the grounds as well.

Braxous, after he was given permission to walk the grounds alone, often went to sit on a bench, far away from water, near the flowerbeds. One day, while sitting, Reluz was talking with the gardener of the grounds and offered to help water the plants since she’s a volunteer anyways and was friends with him. However, by accident, she sprayed Braxous with the hose water, getting his attention. 

After apologizing profusely, Reluz followed Braxous to make sure he dried off and was okay and such, especially since he’s not a huge fan of water. While Reluz was embarrassed by the whole situation and flustered, Braxous found himself thinking about her that night since she treated him like a normal person... unlike others at the hospital who treated him as if he were broken, ignored, and at times treated like a danger. 

After that, Reluz started visiting Braxous on the same bench and the two would talk. A lot. Braxous was very interested in the outside, normal, and civilized world and was intrigued by the idea of high school and its simple drama. Reluz, who is by nature an open book and who liked Braxous a lot, was more than glad to tell him about everything she could. The two hit it off very well. 

When Braxous turned 20, he was no longer considered a minor and a ward of the state. Since he applied for citizenship for The Kiniarth and passed the tests needed, and no longer under the threat of deportation as the result, he hunted Reluz down to keep in contact with her since she helped ground him a lot while at the hospital and was his only real visitor, which touched him a lot. 

Ofc, Reluz’s mom didn’t like this at all at first. And Braxous used to sneak in to talk with Reluz often, which made it worse. Although Braxous is asexual and at the time, saw Reluz as a close friend, the fact he was a 20 year old visiting a 17 year old in secret skeeved Tulia out a lot. 

After learning what... social consequences his actions had, Braxous backed off. A little. But he was still very protective of her, often waiting outside for her in the morning to walk her to school and such. Reluz also tried to teach Braxous basic math, further reading skills, and other such things as well during her downtime since he never really got the chance to learn such things growing up.  

I want to note that Braxous and Reluz didn’t get together officially until she was 20 and he was 23. Although she started crushing on him around the age of 18ish, he wanted her to wait and didn’t want to be with her until she was older because he felt she was moving too fast and thought her feelings would fade... ofc, they didn’t. And he ended up growing feelings for her as well once she was older... around 19ish or so. 

Aaaaand they officially got together on her 20th birthday :>
