â doing alright there,  LONGBOTTOM? â   thereâs a familiar level of high spirits that came with the use of the otherâs last name.  oliver hadnât precisely become acquainted with the boy during his days at school but he had known the kind of hilarity that had come with practically knowing him.  their house had had on many occasions doubted nevilleâs ability to belong & the other houses only saw the CLOWN that seemed to get everything wrong but after what they confronted tonight? that would hardly be the case anymore.  no,  itâs usage this time around wasnât to pertain to a certain kind of tormenting but to instead address the other as a fellow brother in arms.  he feels the weight over his own grief as he silently ponders over those who werenât so fortunate to have made it through the outcome,  plopping himself down beside the other,  oliver pulls out a piece of chocolate to offer as a sign of gratitute,  â i think given the circumstances,  i figured this sounds about right. â    @braverystoodâ / sc.

itâs almost funny, in a way. at least, she thinks it might be : how could an exam be so frightening, after all the things theyâve seen? all the things theyâve had to see, had to do, just to survive? and yet! and yet. here she is, staring down at the papers and books sheâs spread out across the table, forgetting how to breathe.Â
tests had always done this to her, to varying lesser degrees, but this time is different, itâs worse, because all she can think is that she shouldnât be feeling this way. she should be stronger. she shouldnât be so scared of it. but now thereâs an entire future hanging just out of reach, one that she feels woefully unprepared for, one that feels more like a yawning void than solid ground.Â
itâs a good thing, really, that neville appears when he does. she isnât sure she would have realized how close she was walking to dissolving into her own worry. one nod, and then another, hands drawing into fists on her knees. breathe, hannah, breathe. and then she does, one breath and then another, until she can look over at him with a smile thatâs tremulous, but there. âthanks,â she says. âreally. i - - - i know itâs....silly. not like we havenât seen worse.â another deep breath as she looks back down at her books and her notes. âyou wouldnât happen to fancy a walk, would you? i think i might walk by the lake and toss the giant squid some toast. i donât think i can look at these books a moment longer.âÂ

roger: have you ever been to an animal hospital? neville: no... neville: *imagining a bowtruckle with a tiny stethoscope* neville: ...but i want to.
