Doing dissociation self-assessments to validate your experiences is fun until you do the DES-II and get a high score and immediately think, instead of, "wow, this must mean my experiences and concerns are real and valid", you think "wow. this means i did it wrong for attention. i must've messed up somewhere, normal scores for folk with trauma/dissociative disorders are in the 30s, so how DARE i get a score that is in the 40s?? wow so selfish"
