I'm thinking maybe cabagu have genetically altered themselves into a caste system. They already naturally have one based on their genders (queen = leader/mother, king = advisor/treasurer, engee = worker/gatherer/soldier) but I'm wondering if they've done more. Like... Genetically Engineering soldiers and worker clades. I don't want to call them races...? But like. A group of cabagu engineered to be bigger, stronger, with more endurance. One made to get inside big ships and fix stuff, so is smaller, more flexible, can handle more extreme environments. It's not ethical obviously, and everyone joins the military now, besides the fighters, but the fighting clade probably gets treated differently, and individuals of clades probably don't want to do the thing they were designed for. Like a fighter who wants to repair ships or a worker who wants to fight. That kind of stuff.
