This question is not about shipping. Imagine that you’re some random in the Bleach universe. You have to go and do battle or you get kidnapped. Whom do you take with you as an ally or who is the person that you want to organize your rescue mission.
The catch is that you may only choose between Rukia and Orihime.
I personally know that the enemy I’m going to fight isn’t cancer, and I’m not the prisoner oh a horde of MRSA , Rukia seems the obvious choice, but is she trully?
I mean Rukia is my best girl, but by the end of the series Orihime gets a boost, after all is said and done, she was chosen to accompany the MC to fight the final big bad, and I don’t think that Urahara would have made that choice if he didn’t believed that Orihime at least stood a chance.
Still I would feel safer with Rukia guarding my back, even if I disregard Orihime’s annoying habit of helping our enemies at the most inoportune moments.
Last week I was writing a way to long essay about Orihime and her role in Bleach, outside her relationship with the main character, and it really made me wonder about a lot of things.
I am one of the ichirukis that actually like Orihime, especially in the first arc, but something about her bugs me, and it’s not the fact that she ends up with Kurosaki. I would be genuinely shocked if by some strange alchemy one of the ships I prefer would ever be canonized, so for me it’s not such a big deal.
By reading, rewatching and discussing in a civilized manner, I hope that I would be able, among other things, to put my finger on what exactly is the ball taht was dropped with Orihime, impeding her to reach the fullness of the great potential she displayed as a character when Bleach started.
Please. Again if you need to mention their significant others keep it light. Women are more than their boyfriends/husbands.
