         DANIEL’S NOT THE TYPE to be particularly interested in his parents’ get togethers. especially not when it’s involving his mother’s friend and daughter, naeun. this time, though, he’s forced into it by his family – being told that he needs to try at least a little bit harder to seem like he’s not some strange outsider ( even if that’s how he truly feels ). it’s nearing the end of dinner and, though he’s been doing well at blocking everyone out for the most part, he’s brought back to earth at a suggestion from his mother. you should spend the night – you can take the guest bedroom and, i’m sure daniel doesn’t mind sharing a room with naeun for the evening. he’s practically giving his mother the death stare by now, because he absolutely minds. he doesn’t stay at his parents’ place often, it usually ending up in a fight. there’s only two guest rooms, and daniel’s not sure why naeun can’t share with her mother, but he knows better than to go against his mother’s suggestion in front of guests. he only grunts quietly in response as the friend accepts the invitation graciously.         dinner comes to an end and everyone’s quickly retreating into their rightful rooms. daniel stands from the table, peering over at naeun. ❛ room’s this way, ❜ is all he tells her, monotonous, before heading down the somewhat long hallway, expecting her to follow.
