India's decision:
Keeping all those points in mind and the current border issues that are taking place between India and China, due to the security issues, India has called for a ban of 59 Chinese apps, which will create a downfall in the Indian Economy.
Ban on Chinese apps by the Indian Government claiming that the security of data and privacy loss in using these apps is much prevalent. China has questioned India and threatened that it would take this issue to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
China is in vain as WTO wouldn't accept this case for three main reasons;
China and India had no existing bilateral agreements related to the social media apps. China, who had initiated its marketing inside India and gained popularity as India was open to all without restricting any country's entry.
WTO acts favor to India as a country has the right to ban or stop the inputs or products from another country if it is violating the safety and security of the target citizens.
Another reason is that China has blocked all the Technological giants in reaching inside China. Chinese citizens are not aware of Google, Instagram, and Facebook, etc. in a motto to advance the profits of Chinese apps.
Other than this, China restricts a few of the NEWS papers from entering into China. India was the largest market for Chinese social media apps. India has become a profit-generating machine for the Chinese Government.
