"This is where it ends." Marvel says, a false grin on his face. [This could be where Marvel and Glimmer are the last ones in the games.]
Seemingly, it was more difficult for Glimmer to allow her lips to stretch in a grin that matched his own. There was something about the look in his eyes that clued her in to the falsity of his expression, but she was the only one who would catch on.
There's a moment where she falters, corners of her mouth twitching to a downward position because this was the end; not only of this year's Games, but of her own existence.
At least she could go with some semblance of peace, that she had done what she set out to do; bound and determined. Now here he was, Marvel, in front of her-- alive and vital, though there was blood trickling down his face from the narrow escape they'd made as the mutts chased after them. A momentary closing of her eyes and she couldn't get the sight of bared teeth and the coppery tang of blood from flooding her senses.
She pushed it aside, the horrible thoughts, knowing she wouldn't be plagued with them for much longer. There were no longer any threats in his way and he would live; the thought brought a true smile to her face.
Again, it fell as she let her gaze scan over his features, allowing herself to memorize how he looked shrouded in the glow of potential victory.
Foreboding pressure build behind her eyes and she shifted the blue hues away from him, hiding the emotion that she couldn't reveal to him in the moment that she needed desperately for him to be strong.
Her fingers found the hilt of the knife that was tucked into her belt and they wrapped around it before placing it carefully in the palm of his hand.
Thumb stroking his finger absently for a moment, she met his gaze, a small smile of something like encouragement etched on her face. She could only hope that her eyes told him everything that he would need to know as her gaze burned into his.
A hand moved up, shifting blonde strands back from her shoulder; chin tilting to expose the pale skin of her neck to him.
“Just make it quick.”
