It was in every phrase. Every word. He was pleading. Whiney. And full of self-pity. He verbally thrashed and sought a scapegoat. Naturally he decided that all of his actions were President Obama’s fault. Fear was in his voice as he tried to craft an alternate reality where President Obama’s support for women to be in control of their health care choices forced poor old Rushbo to call Sandra Fluke a slut and a whore.

Sec. Panetta, Get Rush Limbaugh Off Armed Forces Radio NOW! No tax money for abusive, divisive, insulting language.

It is not bad enough that he provides partisan blather, that he demeans our President.

He has regularly demeaned women.

His remarks this week were well beyond the pale of what should be broadcast to our military and their families, supported with our tax dollars.

We have a moral objection to our tax dollars being used for such a purpose.

You should move immediately to cancel any further broadcast through government facilities of his venom.

There is no excuse for the US Government, in any capacity, giving this man an audience.

It is an insult to the honorable men and women who serve this nation.

While Rush Limbaugh has offered his fake apology to Sandra Fluke for calling her a slut and a whore, it's important to recall each of the 52 times last week when Rush insulted Fluke. So I've compiled a comprehensive list, each of them linked to Limbaugh's own transcript of what he said. Does one half-hearted apology make up for 52 smears?

Feb. 29, 2012:

Here's the latest in the GOP's attack on women's health:

Rush Limbaugh is now leading the charge, waging a series of ugly attacks on a Georgetown law student named Sandra Fluke, who bravely testified in Congress to protect a woman's access to contraception and preventive care.

His response? He called her a "slut" who "wants to be paid to have sex," adding, "she's having so much sex, she can't afford the contraception." He neglected to mention that Sandra was testifying about her friend who was denied birth control she needed in order to stop ovarian cysts from growing. Mitt Romney, displaying a stunning lack of leadership, wouldn't denounce Rush's point of view, saying, "I'll just say this, which is, it's not the language I would have used."

The attacks coming from the GOP on women's health are way over the line — and very dangerous.

Mitt Romney has come out in support of the "personhood" amendment, which will outlaw some forms of birth control and even in-vitro fertilization.

Rick Santorum declared contraception is "harmful to women."

We didn't fight as hard as we did for health care reform just to have key progress for women repealed by GOP politicians, like the Blunt-Rubio amendment would have done. And we didn't fight as hard as we did for women's rights just to have radio "entertainers" like Rush Limbaugh viciously attack women who stand up for the care they need. Rush Limbaugh said Sandra's parents should be ashamed of her. President Obama told Sandra that her parents should be proud. We're proud, too, because she's fighting for all of us.

The only path forward for our nation is the UTTER DESTRUCTION of this Republican Party.

— House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Congressional Republicans' agenda to impose government intrusion on individual liberty when it comes to matters of sex.

And here's Nancy on the roaring silence from Congressional Republicans, who cower in fear of GOP Boss Limbaugh, on his heinous, misogynistic public attacks on an innocent young woman:

"They won’t disassociate themselves from it. They’re tattooed with it."

Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown Law Student savagely attacked by Rush Limbaugh for defending the right of all women to have access to birth control, just revealed on MSNBC that President Obama had telephoned her to offer his thanks and support.

"He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," Fluke said.

"What was really personal to me was he said to tell my parents that they should be proud, and that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me, so I just appreciated that very much."

As Andrea Mitchell noted, President Obama's call raises the stakes. On one side you have Rush Limbaugh calling Fluke unspeakably ugly things. On the other side you have President Obama supporting and embracing Ms. Fluke and holding her up as a role model.
