an au….within an au?? This is unprecedented. And I love it.

ryland: he’s an alpha but a late bloomer. Thinks he’s a beta for all of his life. Mafia princess reader on the other hand being an omega is damn juicy cause that makes you even more desirable for your dad to pawn off and mark even more of an asshole. Anywho. My mind is fucking reeling over the idea of reader being in danger/injured and THAT is what makes ryland present as (during marks hostage situation? Your entire relationship with ryland before that he thinks he’s a beta and can’t give you everything you need??) an alpha. Him growling at anyone who comes close. Almost hurting you as he tries to make the bleeding stop. Oh it’s juicy. Oh I crave it.

colt: regular ole alpha boy. Likes taking hits for people to protect them. Which just plays right into the plot with florist!reader. Who might be an omega but you’re a ferocious one at that. Makes colt denying you taking care of him hurt even more because it’s an instinct you can’t even control. Wait shut up he’s hurt and walks in from the bathroom to you making a nest out of his bed!!!!! The way you fucking light up with he tells you it’s nice!!!!

after a while of holding you clean him up as best you can, trying to avoid his various wounds and sore spots. it wasn't meant to be sexy. you just want to help and the best way you could think to do that was getting in there with him.

I’m imagining your shop is right down the street from the boxing ring. You and Colt have run into each other several times. When you’re closing the shop and he’s just getting to the gym for a fight. It’s a lot of shameless flirting between you and you def gave him a rose once that he swore helped him win a match.

so he has a crush on you long before you chuck those garden shears at a mobster. And you saving him just makes him even more obsessed with you.

but then you tell him about the men in suits that visited your shop, intimidated you, broke almost all of your vases and displays. With tears in your eyes. And his dopey smile turns into a look of stone cold anger.

Florist!Reader and Colt share one brain cell. Reader has it most of the time, Colt usually only get custody of it when hes in a match or doing some *intense* yearning.

If she and Colt ever get into an altercation with the mob goons that braincell goes immediately to Colt. But reader is not helpless, for she gets my favorite thing ever: feral goblin mode. She just picks something up and starts swinging at someone.

that's why their investigation takes so long. the one brain cell. they've got all this evidence but can't connect the dots on who is who within the organization.

What i want to know is how you picture Colt and Court’s stories resolving in this au. Because i am very very bad at endings lol. (And i can clearly see Ry rescuing Reader and beating the shit outta mark)

omg i am so glad!!! this au has also made the week more fun for me. a sick kid and in-law activities can make a week suck, but our little back and forths have made it so much better. thank you for sending in so many thoughts!!!

here's how i see each one ending

ryland: the don gets the ransom note/picture for you, he's willing to pay the price, go himself. but he's also gathering some of his best guys to go with him, or go in his place. ryland hears about it and volunteers immediately (cause something something he defs found the pregnancy test in your bathroom). so ryland is the one who accompanies the don to pay the ransom and get you back to act as his guard. mark fucking cackles as soon as he sees ryland has tagged along. "this guy? you brought her fucking boy toy?" safe to say the don is shook. anyway, mark shoots your dad, doesn't kill him, ryland beats the shit out of him. unties you, yadda yadda. your dad sees that you're so happy with ryland and is like "fine go be happy" the end.

colt: i'm imagining that you and him start investigating the mob that he's suddenly a part of. taking pictures. snooping. gathering evidence. colt wears a wire to a meeting once. trying to clear colt's name and get him outta this. all the while you're falling harder and harder for each other. this could go in so many directions and i don't wanna just repeat the ryland scenario but like it would be very juicy if you got kidnapped as well. held at gunpoint to make colt do something even worse than rig a fight (kill a guy or something like that) because the mob knows that you are his weakness. he would do anything to keep you safe. colt doesn't end up killing the guy because you've been secretly on the phone with the cops the whole time and everyone gets arrested!

But then you surprise him, and show up to a match he is set to loose. And you watch as that man gets horribly beaten up in front of you. And Colt feels so guilty for making you watch this, but he cannot let you get hurt instead.

you surprise him by coming to the fight. you've never been before, you kinda avoid the gym like the plague until that night with the garden shears. you want to support him. and really, after your shop got trashed, you don't feel completely safe without him. so when he told you he had a fight on friday, he expected you to just stay home, but instead you show up to the gym just to be closer to him.

and colt's opponent, who doesn't know the fight is rigged, doesn't fight fair. he's fucking brutal. illegal moves. shoves when the whistle is blown. colt puts on a good performance to lose. getting knocked down and staying down, struggling to get back up. but this guy....this guy fucking wails into colt while he's down. beats the fucking shit out of him. knocks his mouthguard out and sends blood spraying.

the refs have to drag the opponant away from colt just to get it to stop.

and out of one good eye, colt looks towards the crowd to see you on your feet, hands over your mouth, looking horrified. and he's just glad it's not you.

anything but you.

and idk maybe you drive him to his apartment cause he can't see or walk for shit after that fight and help him inside. his face is cut up, swollen, his ribs are definitely broken. the medics at the gym did a nice job of patching him up, so that's not needed. but once you help him onto the couch he can barely move.

Oh and maybe while you’re at his apartment you find the note that the mob gave him. The one that threatened your safety for his compliance.

(Dont mind me, thinking im out of ideas and then suddenly getting inspired lol)

oh wait you're so right why didn't i think of that. colt WOULDN'T want you to see him like that. wouldn't want your help because he doesn't want you to see him so weak and helpless and not okay.

so maybe after he gets the shit beaten out of him during that fight he does accept the ride home because cabs are spendy and you're being very insistent. but then he won't let you come inside. thumbs up. tells you that he can handle it from there and kinda hurts your feelings.

and even though your feelings are hurt you call him the next day to ask if he's okay. and you tell him that you made too much soup. so begrudgingly, he asks if you wanna come over. you bring the soup and step in to help when you see him struggling with stuff (redoing his bandages, getting on a shirt, etc) and completely ignore him when he tries to tell you he's fine. you stay the whole day, and by the end of it colt is questioning why he pushed you away in the first place and muttering an apology that you make him repeat several times.

you're cleaning up in the kitchen when you spot the note. leaning up against the flower jar like a reminder. you recognize the paper. you were pretty sure you would never forget it. and now you can see clear as day what's written there. a threat. against ryland, about YOU.

like ryder cant *stand* that colt is an alpha, while he is a beta, and not to mention that colt now has a pretty little omega friend!

also fully convinced that Ryder would try to mask his beta status and pretened that hes an alpha lol. be it with wierd drugs or sent changers or something, and like nobody buys it but they all kinda humor him.

it is my full-hearted belief that tom ryder, in any a/b/o universe but ESPECIALLY the boxer au, is a beta that is trying to convince everyone around him that he's an alpha. uses fake scents. will step up to literally anyone to try to seem like an alpha. takes hormone injections probably. it ain't good. some people probably believe it. strangers, acquaintances. but if you even get to know him a little bit it's like 'oh.....he's a beta. lol." and tom is SO jealous of real alpha colt man. he hates that guy just because he's an alpha and he's not.

i've been imagining that your flower shop is like right down the street from the gym that colt and tom train/fight at. so they both have seen you before and colt has obviously developed a long distance crush on you. and tom notices.....and hates it. so tom has definitely taken you out on a date and it did not go well because you called him out on being a beta and he absolutely flipped his shit.

so tom also hates you. and it gets even worse when you hit him with those garden sheers. so when he sees you with colt? maybe you accompany him to the gym once to watch him train? he wants you both taken out. gone. he can't stand the sight of you - especially together.
