Soak up the rich flavors of bourbon-infused ice cream with bursts of sweet cherries. This rich dessert will satisfy your sweet tooth and wow your guests with its sophisticated flavor.
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 5 large egg yolks. 1/4 cup bourbon. 1 cup pitted cherries, chopped. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves and mixture is warm. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually whisk in about 1 cup of the warm cream mixture. Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan with the remaining cream mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon and vanilla extract. Transfer mixture to a bowl and let it cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled at least 4 hours or overnight. Once chilled, churn the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. During the last few minutes of churning, add chopped cherries. Transfer churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze until firm about 4 hours or overnight.
