Learning that his whole life is a lie, Jack cannot help but wonder who he really is, and who his birthfather is. In need of distance to come to terms with the truth the young prince begin to regularly sneak out into the city where he finds new friends and even a hint to who his father might be.

But there is a reason the King and Queen kept the truth from everyone, and in a moments inattentiveness it falls into the wrong ear. Hours later the Nightmare King appears for the first time in centuries and steal the young prince away.

It is once more up to the Guardians of the Realm to take up the mantle in the ancient battle against the Darkness and to free Jack from the destiny given him long before he was born.
