We are back, yes! 

...somewhat.  XD

John and I have been taking a very necessary break from tommyplum, as we both work in healthcare in our respective countries and it’s been An Experience in these times of overwhelm, so the return to posting and reblogging will likely be slow and sporadic for a while. But we’re happy to be back, and happy to see your lovely selves again!!

hey @boundinshallows i literally just woke up n saw this so i’m sorry if this a little incoherent

firstly i mean. i just want to say that speculating about actor’s motivations/intentions is always incredibly difficult because, obviously, i don’t know ben daniels personally. so, you know, all of this ultimately boils down to personal opinion based off my very long life in fandoms that have 'teased’ ships.

i think during last year’s rounds of interviews where ben daniels is quoted about seven hundred times as saying marcus thinks tomas is unattractive, it was definitely legit at the time. like, really, if ben was being a tease, he wouldn’t be saying “marcus thinks tomas is unattractive. marcus sees tomas as a brother”, because that’s the opposite of a tease.

i don’t think he is or was necessarily against it either, though, just that ben’s very much the bible of marcus. he’s got a headcanon for everything. for example: did you know  ben came up with the entirety of marcus’ backstory? before ben joined the exorcist, there was no known backstory for marcus - he was an empty slate - and it was ben who crafted the backstory of cyclical violence that made marcus such a capable exorcist.

anywho. ben has obviously just changed his tune and is now having fun being a tease. doesn’t mean he wasn’t real legit in older interviews, just that tomarcus is now a thing that the entire cast/crew talks about — seane crouch, the exec producer, retweeted ben’s tweet about “i can’t for the life of me see why anyone ships these two”.

whether or not the fact they’ve all started mumbling about tomarcus actually means anything is completely different. it probably doesn’t. there’s still, imo, a fifty-fifty chance that tomarcus is going to happen. fifty-fifty as in “it will or it won’t there’s no real indications either way”.
