Send me a ✯ for a compliment from my muse.
Her smiles are often recieved with a double-take, as if they were myth. The fabled woman by the water’s edge and the quiet mouth, the soulful eyes – rarely smiled. If she did it was often assumed out of sheer politeness, for the word cold never quite touched her description . . distant, however, did. It was enough at least, to keep many at bay. But that made the concept of ‘reaching out’ all the more difficult to the foreign Princess. ( She wonders if such a title even applies to her any longer. )
“You’ve a kindness to you. Despite your position, it’s inherent to your nature. . isn’t it? ” Azura remarked softly, as words often were, points often made. To the side of the tent’s flap she stands, her lance holding up the cloth with a firm hand, eyes gently lidded, not in a doleful stare as he had remarked her countenance to be, but in one of quiet, profound gentility.
“Perhaps it isn’t my business, but I believe . . for a ruler – for a person, as a ruler should not dissociate . . but to forsake their natural talents would be one of the greatest mistakes they could make. One of the finest strengths of the world, in the cultures I have seen, in the times they are tested . . is the ability to remain kind, however selective. ” She has not yet left him as the meeting has closed, remains smiling, that faint little curvature of the mouth, eyes holding a quiet knowledge, as if somehow speaking of this brought her a great deal of comfort where uncertainty had often taken place instead.
“You have done so to your family . . even to those that are strangers to you, when your situation would grant you reasons to hold resentment. It’s admirable. Not only that.. it gives me great hope for your country. I’ve no real standing to give you requests but .” A slight nod, beginning to part, the smile remaining. “It is my hope that you always keep that kindness. It is as much a strength as a sword, truly. Not just for the sake of a country . . but for yours, as well. I know that at the least, your kindness has taken care of one person for whatever time you’ve spent with them. ”
The curtain flap closes.
