Final update:
I received a phone call from BottomSlim's Jurong branch manager, Karen, this evening regarding the dispute. According to her, TMC and CLT both uses electric pulsation thus the misunderstanding. Well, different modes of electric pulsation warrants a different price. However, she was polite throughout the conversation and confirmed that based on the treatments I received on my first visit, it really costs $900 if ala-carte. She offered additional treatments as compensation on top of personal service from her on my visit this Sunday. I can't dispute that this was handled rather poorly by the consultant but Karen resolved it so simply. I'm not sure whether I will recommend this to my peers, but this has really taught me a great lesson. Thank you all for following my encounter.

My email to AllDealsAsia:
I have recently purchased a voucher from AllDealsAsia "New Year Special: 10 Slimming Treatments for Tummy and Thighs + Wonder-Tight Butt Treatments + New Year Welcome Pack (Worth $1888) 20 Slimming Treatments Option Available", my voucher number is Voucher No: 141601-880227.
I bought the voucher on 9th Jan 2013, and booked my first appointment with BottomSlim on the same day 9th Jan 2013, evening 7:30pm. I refer to the fine print on the voucher that reads 120mins in duration inclusive of body analysis. I expected 20 sessions of 120 mins treatment but was quickly corrected by my BottomSlim consultant that 20 sessions actually means 20 treatments of which 10 treatments can be completed in a single visit and that 20 sessions I bought can be completed within 2 visits.
Not just that, I was talked into signing a package which costs roughly $934.58. The consultant highlighted problem areas and drafted it on a blank piece of paper which I remember to have treatments on my stomach and hips, that I will cover later. I was unwilling to pay $934.58 therefore rejected the offer unless there was a 24 months installment plan available. The consultant initially told me that POSB only allowed 3, 6 and 12 months installment plan therefore I did not want to sign. The consultant left the room and came back with a confirmation that 24 months was available and that she checked with the bank before confirming with me that there was a 24 months installment plan available.
I was told to call up the bank the next day on 10th Jan 2013 to change payment of the package into a preferred payment plan of 24 months which the consultant also confirmed that many other clients have done so previously. So I went ahead with the treatments only to realize that the technology they have attached me to, did not include tummy and hips. The consultant then told me she did not include tummy and hips treatment on the package I signed up for. Knowing so, she went ahead to offer me 10 sessions of tummy and hips treatment at an additional $51.10. By the time I agreed, my first treatment with BottomSlim was already over and I still had 10 sessions of tummy and hips plus 9 sessions of other treatments I paid for. That sums my total package to $985.68 but was written as $1000 on my payment slip.
I called the bank on 10th Jan 2013 noon, only to find out that 24 months installment plan was not available. Immediately, I called BottomSlim and the consultant reconfirmed that she has called the bank on 9th Jan 2013 to confirm there was 24 months installment plan available. I then demanded a cancellation and a refund of the remaining treatments I have paid for. She coaxed me by saying that a monthly installment of $70+ is still affordable and reasonable. And I refused to listen. Of which, she said I would have to pay for the first treatment I received on based on ala-carte prices which actually sums up to $900, as said by the consultant over the phone. Again, I told her I will report this to CASE and she told me that previous clients have tried reporting to CASE and lost.
Upset and furious, I went online to research on reviews of past experiences by women who have tried BottomSlim. One of the reviews I read, mentioned the term "TMC" which represents a treatment that attaches electric nodes to your muscles to shock them. I got even more confused as "CLT" was what was written on my payment slip but the technology of treatment I received was exactly as described by the forumer as "TMC".
By the time I realized what had happened, I called POSB immediately to cancel the payment made to BottomSlim. However, the transaction had already been transferred to BottomSlim. I called BottomSlim to demand an explanation on what TMC and CLT have in common and their differences and uses. They have yet to get back to me on that.
BottomSlim has misrepresented POSB and has tarnished the name of AllDealsAsia.
I bought and entrusted my wellbeing in this treatment because I believed in AllDealsAsia. This has caused me a lot of unnecessary stress and unhappiness. My fiance and I have decided to bring this to CASE and make a police report as soon as BottomSlim gets back to me.
I would appreciate if you would take action and drop BottomSlim as one of your clients on AllDealsAsia and prevent more victims to fall into the trap. Such unethical business behavior should be discouraged.
Thank you very much for taking time to read my complaint. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. I am reachable at xxxxxxxx (Mobile).
Further update:
I have contacted BottomSlim and demanded an explanation for TMC and CLT treatments. Meanwhile, I have forwarded my complaint against BottomSlim to AllDealsAsia which I have bought this from and POSB.
Update:
Dear all, after much frustration, I went on to read many bad reviews on BottomSlim on various forums. To my astonishment, I read from one review, that TMC was a machine with electro pads that shocks your muscules. While I paid for CLT treatments and was persuaded it is better than TMC, it was exactly what I received. Meaning I paid for CLT, and had gotten TMC treatments, I believe. Called up the bank but unfortunately, was unable to stop the payment from getting through to the merchant. I am going to make a police report and going to CASE with this. I can't believe many ladies have allowed this to happen to them. I sure am not.
As many of you have heard/seen, BottomSlim is one of well advertised slimming companies in Singapore. This post is based on my experience with BottomSlim. Please take some time to read and bear with my anger throughout the post.
Like many ladies out there, I have entrusted my weight management to numerous slimming products over the years. Some more harmful to the body than the others. So when I came across this chance of a slimmer bottom on a local online deal merchant with promise that no pills are involved, I immediately bought the voucher without a second thought.
This is my first time in a slimming salon. Having seen my sister entrust herself to numerous slimming companies, I told myself that I should try just once. So I did. I bought 20 sessions with BottomSlim for $18. Or so the voucher says.
Upon arrival, I was brought to this room with a huge pink calculator and furry table top. "SHIT" came into my mind. My worst nightmare is having a pushy sales person trying to squeeze every cent out of you. I stayed firm on my decision to try the slimming voucher sessions I bought online first then decide if I want to continue with the service.
What was made known to me was, 20 sessions actually meant 20 TREATMENTS. And not 20 VISITS. I never knew you could squeeze 10 treatments into a SINGLE visit. But okay sure. Now I get it. I was convinced that I was in for a pushy sales pitch.
I said no. And of course, as expected, she generously extended her offer. I would be lying if I said I wasn't tempted. She offered a deal which could be paid in 3, 6 and 12 months installment by POSB. I asked for a longer installment plan of 24 months which she said isn't available. Same for Standard Chartered. So naturally I refused the offer kindly and said I am not interested in paying within 12 months.
Another generous offer got added to the list of treatments "designed" for me. Okay. I asked what other banks offer a longer installment plan. She replied UOB. So fine. I said I would have the trials today and if I like it, my hubby-to-be has UOB. We can come back another day if I really want to sign the package.
But noooooooo. Yet another generous offer was added to the list. So I stated that I would only be interested to sign yesterday night if 24 months payment mode was available through POSB or Standard Chartered bank. She made a call immediately outside the consultation room and came back with a wide grin saying 24 months is available by POSB but I would have to call the bank myself the next day to opt for a 24 months installment plan with the bank.
Sounded dubious so I turned down the offer again. How can she say there were only 3, 6 and 12 months installment plan but suddenly said 24 months installment plan was available? She double confirmed it by telling me other customers have applied for the installment plan too. I was starting to get annoyed after an hour sharing session on her personal life. Each time I said no, she would crap out another story about her own life to distract me.
I'm just any average software engineer working hard to make ends meet. So it was really hard for me to say yes to this commitment. But I did after she confirmed the 24 months plan. My mistake was that I did not call the bank personally to confirm that.
On to the treatment, the consultant highlighted my problem areas and drafted a plan for me which I did not make sure it was transferred onto the payment slip. I clearly overlooked that. She missed out a stomach and hip treatment which she later sold me at a $50 discounted rate. I mean, that is really damn unethical.
I called the bank this morning to transfer that payment into an installment plan as intended and POSB confirmed that they do not have any 24 months installment plan avilable. I was torn. I felt so cheated. It didn't really matter that I had to pay double of what I had planned because the amount actually sums up to less than $100 a month if so.
Like I said before, I am not a pushover. And will not allow anyone to get away with it. I called back BottomSlim immediately and demanded an explanation plus refund. Her words were, "But okay mah. $70+ a month also hua suan (reasonable)". I kept reasoning with her and repeatedly tell her that if she does not refund me, I will go to CASE. Immediately, she told me that she'll call back and see what she can do about the situation.
Moments later, she called to say my hubby can foot the bill using his UOB credit card for 36 months payment scheme and they'll cancel the payment I made but will take 3 months to refund me in cheque. I don't know how that works. I don't know how true that is as well. According to my colleague, none of the banks allow 36 months payment scheme. Well, that's still unproven. But I was still furious that I had to allow this to be done to me.
Knowing I just did 1 treatment visit with the center, I decided that I should pay the treatments I did yesterday as ala-carte services. The consultant started to come up with a load of bull and told me its worth $900. Which is actually nearly the same price I paid for, for 10 SESSION VISITS. HELLO. OUT OF YOUR MIND?
What I did yesterday was only a double caviar mask with whitening effects on my BACK calves and CLT (some machine with pads that shocks your muscles). And that warranted a $900 bill if ala-carte. I said I will not pay that ridiculous amount and demanded a refund or else to CASE it goes. Her reply was so unbelievable. She said some clients went to CASE before and lost the case cause CASE didn't have sufficient evidence to move on with it.
I was blown away by her cockiness.
After some thoughts and a call to CASE, I realized I had insufficient evidence against BottomSlim as the conversations were made through phone. Now I have to complete and make the best out of the situation and that's to go for all remaining 9 sessions I have paid for.
I have lost faith and even though I do not wish to continue with the treatments, what choice do I have?
I sincerely hope everyone out there who's considering BottomSlim will take a look at my personal experience I had with them before taking the plunge.
