We're... still doing the same fucking chapter. I am considering never writing anything ever again. Also it's not 5 sentences, but who's got the time for counting these days.

"I packed you some rations." Jerael shoved a small package into her hands before she could refuse. Some dry fruits and jerky, if she were to guess, all wrapped in a linen cloth and tied with twine. Made her think about fresh-faced recruits from the Ventus campaign, all bright eyed, with their home preserves wrapped in the best fabric their families could afford. She pushed the memories away, before they could run their inevitable course. "Thanks, mum." Alectris shoved the packet into her bag, not wanting to waste time on arguing about it, knowing she'd lose whatever she'd say. Or feel very, very bad later. "Tsk. What would the Lady said if she heard you?" Jer walked her to the backdoor, nearly tripping over Kios weaving between their legs. "Nothing good, I'm sure." Alectris laughed, just the thought of her mother's indignation sending both dread and amusement down her spine. "Best if neither of us ever finds out, actually."
