From my favorite recent residential architecture shoot for @kachmardesign. I love finding ways to light a tricky space. The more hallways and nooks I can include in a composition the more the viewer stays with the photo. 🔸 To light this, I used six strobes. One in the desk nook to balance the daylight, one in the far bedroom with an umbrella, two in the hallway and stairway, and two in the bedroom in which I was shooting in. As the light changes throughout the day, so does the power, softness and direction of my strobes. Anticipating where the sun is moving is the key to getting the light you want. Is your office this clean? Mine might be as clean, but certainly a lot more messy. After walking down the hallway from the living room in the previous post, you’ll find this simple, clean and elegant office. My mother had the same roll-top style desk which was a nice throwback for me. 🔸 I can thank @wizard0woz for the great job in styling and remembering where everything went after we re-arranged. I shot this with a dragged shutter and one strobe bouncing in the right corner behind the door, just tucked out of the frame. In order to put strobes where they need to be, sometimes light stand legs get in the frame that I need to remove in @photoshop. You’d never know to what extent the leg was sticking into the frame here, but it was very apparent! With my 11+ years of retouching interiors it’s like second nature.
