I'm tired of scrolling. Here's the meeting.

Yeah, nothing in that video changes the following realities: • The current surge in illegal border-crossing began in 2017, under Trump. His policies created the surge. • Every country with laws restricting immigration has illegal immigrants. We're not special. We're the same as everywhere else on border security. Border security is never perfect anywhere ever. • Every city in America has illegal immigrants in it. The party in charge, the particular mayor in charge, and whether or not the city calls itself a sanctuary city makes no difference. This is because: • Mayors have no real control over whether illegal immigrants come into their cities. They have no authority to control the flow of people into and out of their cities, and no ability to determine real-time or quickly afterward whether people coming in or going out are illegal immigrants. • You have only claimed to care about the homeless, victims of crime (including human trafficking), and others who suffer when it is in terms of blaming illegal immigration for all our ills. That implies that you only care about illegal immigration and the rest is a front to grant weight to your argument. • These particular illegal immigrants were in detention in tent cities. Because they were in the custody of the city, the city was legally and ethically required to provide shelter for them from the cold. That isn't true for people not in government custody. It's the same principle that parents have more responsibility for their own kids that they have custody of than for other people's kids that they don't have custody of. Sorry you don't like that, but it remains true even in the face of your disapproval. • You can't personally recommend solutions because there are no good solutions. That becomes especially true when people who think the way you do would never support the best available solutions. You're still pretty far from reality on illegal immigration issues.
