Troy Montes-Michie cites the US/Mexico border as his “first experience with the language of collage,” describing it as an amalgamation of “two very separate cultures colliding on every level.” In “Rock of Eye” at the California African American Museum, he uses this intersection to broaden conversations of intimacy and the queer Black body.

and From the Other Side, Fragment (2003)
(action in which the filmmaker performed for Documenta 11, which consisted of screening the end of the documentary at night on a giant outdoor screen situated between two mountains on either side of the border, in the very place where the film was shot, so that the images fade and disappear with the break of dawn)

Toaster Work Wagon: modified bicycle to be given away to children from the wagon, 1997 by Kim Adams
From the inSite Archive
Kim Adam's for inSITE97, Toaster Work Wagon, was a grafting on existing nomadic street life (i.e. concession vehicles). The trailered unit, constructed from the hoods and ends of two Volkswagen vans, set out on daily wanderings around San Diego and Tijuana like a winged toaster. Popping open into a work-waiting station, the Wagon attracted crowds of children and bystanders with its unusual contents. Children's bicycles were grafted into two-headed tricycles that were left at the site for adoption. Children experimented with the bicycles, cooperating with one another to move in one direction or the other. Adam's project experimented with notions of form and function as well as movement and direction. During the public phase of inSITE97, the Wagon was displayed at the Centro Cultural Tijuana. --inSITE97

Big Autumn Border (B.A.B) I did for Uni-ball recently, featuring ALL the classic Autumn Accoutrements: Crispy Dead Leaves, Pumpkins, Bare Branches, Hedgehogs, Robins, Sticks, and Negative Space - It’s too big and wide for tumblr to display it properly, so there’s some little detail zoomins as well
just finished a new shirt design!
