My latest hand painted, upcycled Converse. They were originally cream satin, but had gotten pretty dirty. I painted them with acrylic paints as well and waterproofed them with Liquitex high gloss varnish. Then I added painted flowers I made from larger flower pieces and leaves, as well as some charms and ribbons. I’ve hand painted so many boots lately, my closet is full! So I decided to paint a cap for fun. I don’t have an airbrush machine, but I still wanted it to have that graffiti look. I think I accomplished it with my regular paints. It was a lot of fun. I’ll probably wear it hiking with my family. So I’ve been hand painting boots for myself. I’m getting a lot of feedback that I should sell them. But this sems difficult unless the client would provide their own, known to be comfortable boots, or I did say only one stule if boot in the most common size, which is size 8, ready made. My latest pair of hand painted boots! I have always loved this image, American World War II poster by J. Howard Miller (1943) for Westinghouse Electric. I recently bought the two pins pictured from the gift shop @crystalbridgesmuseum, was inspired to create these boots. I still have to spray the gloss varnish wilhich will also waterproof the hand painting I have done! I added little head scarves like the original image to my “So” brand black canvas boots from @kohls!
