Reactivating my butt
My trainer Pam said that the muscles in my butt need to be reactivated. She said most people who sit a lot, common with those who have desk jobs, lose a lot of muscle strength in their posterior and they basically just become inactive.
In an attempt to bring my butt back to life I have been doing clenches today and trying to make an effort to use those muscles when I walk.
Let me tell you, it has felt very silly.
She said eventually when they become reactivated, exercises like squats will become easier and it will apparently work to help my posture. Plus it should give me a sweet bootie :)
She said a sign that my muscles have kicked back in is that when I do stretching exercises for that area I will actually feel something. As of now I just feel the stretches in my legs. That's apparently not right.
