16. Favorite trilogy.

The Daevabad trilogy by Shannon Chakraborty - for the slowburn both of worldbuilding tension and romance between the three main characters.

I also love The Falconer trilogy by Elizabeth May - this is a paranormal romance historical kind of beat but also an apocalypse narrative? A lot happens in three books.

And The Demon's Lexicon trilogy by Sarah Rees Brennan - people who like edgelord morally dubious protagonists should read this for the amount of fun it has with that trope!

17. Favourite Finished Book Series.

As we can see from the above answer: so many.

The Wicked and the Divine is a really fun comic book series to binge read because it's complete. The wait between volumes was torture at the time!

But Tamora Pierce's Tortall books are the answer here, because there's 3 solid quartets all in the same universe! My favourite is The Protector of the Small Quartet - I read this when I was younger but it still holds up to rereads today. I love a main character who's strength is seemingly mundane but still so meaningful :)

50. What kind of book have you never read but always hope to find at some point in the future?

This is a difficult but good question!!

I think a vampire romance book that actually captures the horror but remains a romance would be precisely my kind of thing. There's a lot of heavily romanticised vampires and a lot of scary vampires but I would love a (modern) book that combines both, which happens in media but not in writing. This probably already exists, so it's more of a question of 'does it cater specifically to me?' at this point.

Also this is a silly one that will probably never happen but I imagine a book that feels like a 'dating sim' - I would love a romance book with multiple love interests that leaves you guessing as to who they will end up with. I get this in webtoons/comics bc they are longer form media, but I think it could be a really fun book premise if done well!

22.what is an essential element of a good book?

If a book manages to make me foget that I am reading, and I can only think of reading more of it meanwhile dreading the fact that it will end and it will all be over it's a good book. This factor can be motivated by very different things tho. Overall I feel like I prefer fast paced books, but the fact a book is fast paced doesn't make it a good book. It's not easy to find a common element that just makes a good book, especially because I'm a mood reader so if I'm not in the right mood I could end up disliking a book that otherwise I would have loved. So I guess the reading experience has a lot of influence in my overall opinion of a book. This answer is so bad I'm sorry 😂

29.how do you organise your books?

I answered this in another ask, but essentially I divide my books into genres, and then I divide everything up trying to keep the same authors together and books with similar vibes close to one another. I will soon reorganize my shelves and make a post about it, but in general this is the only way my brain catalogues books.

unfortunately, yes, i absolutely do, and if you say you don’t, you’re lying. i’m just 100% more likely to pick up a book if the cover is nice and aesthetically pleasing to me. doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good or that i’m gonna read it, but it caught my eye so

(that being said, some of the best books had the absolute worst book covers before they got popular so who am i to judge?)

I've only read the ones that have been translated and for the most part they are just different POV on what we already know happened in the series, I like them, but not much more story wise. . . I think Hannelore's is set after the series though, I looked at a few on the site and they seem to be after Rozemyne has 'graduated' from school, but I didn't want to read them yet so not completely sure they all are... maybe you can clarify after you read them.

I did try to look into AOB fanfiction, but A LOT of them are spoilerly so often I couldn't follow (as I haven't read all the way to the end) or didn't want to be too spoiled. I'm looking though my AO3 history and I only looked at a few before I  decided to just wait, so maybe you or other can add their favorites.

There was one I remember reading and liking was Schlaftraum's Blessing

I admit this is what lead me to finally seeking out the Japanese website and spot reading a few of the chapters. Most fanfiction likes to focus on romance or a romantic moment over telling a story, but this one integrated nicely with the series and had a nice thru arc between all the parts and was written well. I see that the author TheChatteringMagpi has since started a few more AOB stories and they all look interesting, one is AU and the other about Adolphine, so maybe even I can read them without needing to have read everything yet. So if I had to recommend one this is the best I got as I haven't really done a deep dive on AOB fanfiction / Japanese doujinshi.

As for other series... I guess I could write more about this later with a better break down... I actually used to read a lot more when I was younger, but took a break from it, but during Covid I jumped into manga/anime again so I've been playing catchup ever since, it feels like there are more titles than ever now.

Isekai/Slice-of-life/Wholesome: By the Grace of the Gods, The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, Culinary Chronicles of the Court Flower, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (I know this has action/fighting, but it often is comes off so wholesome to me overall) Drama/Romance (working hard for their dreams): Chihayafuru and Nadame Cantabile (both have a sorta similar couple dynamic to Roze/Ferd), Welcome to the Ballroom

Comedy/Romance: Skip Beat!, Kodocha, The Wallflower, Wotakoi - Love Is Hard for Otaku

People tell me are good but haven't read them yet - historical fantasy drama romances for the most part (I think): Snow White with the Red Hair, Yona of the Dawn, Dawn of Arcana, Vinland Saga, Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles, Mushoku Tensei - Jobless Reincarnation, Heroic Legend of Arslan

Pt 2 Obviously season 3 is season 3, and I'm not really complaining that it's not what I want. I'm mostly just sad that the scene that absolutely demolished me for literal weeks and made me go into actual mourning only made it for a single Canon-defying shot so it couldn't absolutely destroy my friends who only watched the anime. I need partners in my misery.

I noticed and lamented a bit, but it was also clear that they were wrapping the series up and I'm sure they didn't want to leave it on a such a depressing note, at least not even more depressing than it already was... maybe if they had another season they might have added more, but to keep it hopeful made sense given the anime ending... they wanted to focus on the more positive and maybe perhaps encourage those who liked the anime to pick up the manga / light novels and not turned off by a depressing separation... assuring them that her family and Myne are fine moving forward and still connected, even if it is hard.

The entire season seemed rushed, they got all the main points in, but I wish they could have fleshed it out more... animation was lacking in many areas. That was my take away at least, been a while since the initial impact, but honestly I was just hoping we would get another season, but that ending kinda said otherwise, as much as I would like to wish otherwise (I mean they spent time setting up some of the villains that would be more relevant much later in the story, so I was hoping). Part 3 and 4 have been so good so far, I wish the entire series would get an adaptation, but that is not the anime market, honestly never has been, especially for series like this.

LOL, Yes! I laughed so much at Clarissa's POV... it is a very strange dynamic... but I guess it is no different than people who shared love / obsession over someone famous or a franchise like LOTR or something and that is what brings them together... just not typically seen depicted in print like this. I honestly loved it too...
