This was so me as a kid!Reading books in the bar. But I still can attest, @hurtadosergio268 has swooshed my books from my hand drunk master style cause I still did it adulting through doubling up majors and bar hopping. Yea the light weight jitsu champ, even got me through this weird coma were people were just getting in hospital through their illness. I just woke up , called in for work , my high pain threshold tolerance was all prime, couple days past, people were rushed into ER by this time and I was like sleeping beauty, woke up felt like hungover had passed and he got home ...I was reading a book...oh scared, I got yelled at. I still had no clue , my prof. baseball coach /investor boss had no clue either, or my mix gender soccer league, until explained of the situation by Serg ...after I returned to work . Thank god we were freakin technically skilled at what we do as physical trainers, anatomy, and not in another country. Stoked my niece and son loves reading at an early age in both of their societies major languages hawaiian and English immersion. Can’t wait to give them my advance books to borrow. Shit people don’t even give books back, I should start collecting drivers lic compensation for them!! Don’t know if it’s a Hawaii,my favorite past time was reading in learning to jam sesh lyrics while one of my gramps at the bar or backyard telling jokes, while the other is trying to make me taste all these high class drinks grooming me for airforce and sort of European classiness of Germany. It was that or having to converse with more investors needing translator - it’s that or being dropped off at some sitters again-I do love them -but I rather read... in a bar... with beer ( or Virgie Shirley temple , my fav) ...with live music... and good friends , mom chiming in between. But when I say it’s bed time- it’s bed time, home we go. Kids first, freedom later, time flies ... something my parents didn’t do but my grandfathers did. Its there, but I Never lived off social security or welfare of kingdom trust til my near death for proff. reporting. #education #entrepreneur #kanakapila #booksandbars #stayingfocused #home #read #nativeintellect (at Wranglers Steakhouse)
Books & Bars - The Graveyard Book - November 10, 2015
What is Story North?
So, here’s how I pitched the show to Alive & Social:
Story North is a Twin Cities podcast revolving around storytelling arts. From novels and short stories to film, songwriting, video games, and plays, we'll consider, discuss, wrestle over, and have fun with any art form containing narrative element, and with a focus on the vibrant Minneapolis-St. Paul literary community.
In short, we want to revive literary discussion to include the kinds of stories we consume here and now, and we want to make that discussion fun and engaging.
We're also incorporating Minnesota's largest book club – and the state's best book club, too, according to City Pages -- into the show: “Books & Bars.” We'll promote the club's book selection each month, and dedicate a podcast episode each month to discussion of the club’s selected book.
Minneapolis-St. Paul is the ideal home location for Story North: the Twin Cities consistently rates as one of the most literate cities in the U.S.
Help us achieve our vision, and give the show a listen. We’ll be up on iTunes soon, but for now you can find our shows at Spreaker.
This sums up our day. #summer #pool #booksandbars #gosetawatchman
