CAUTERIZE:

• Kinda feels like a less doomed bloodletting to me. If they had had more of a relationship from the start or if Pyro had put his trust in Legs with the whole cure thing I think they could have been really healing to eachother (pun intended). Like Pyro might have snapped out of it if he had had someone who told him that he wasn't a monster and maybe he could have gotten Legs to see some good in himself too. Just realized these two freaks are gonna live rent free in my head now and there aren't even a lot of fics about them. So please let them win so people write about them more. I need this for my sanity

• HILARIOUSLY ENOUGH, the first crush my Tomodachi Life Miis had was Pyro crushing on Legs. Like. I hadn't even really considered them before but apparently-

• Pyro and Shelby were soooo complex in their relationship. Both of them had huge plot points in Shelby’s turning. And after he was so hungry that he literally ripped her apart, she still loved him.

BLOODMOON:

• Picture a world where Pearl was less of an npc early on and took a similar-ish path to Legs. However instead of trying to 'fix' Owen she just tries to help him learn to be a better person and accepts him for what he is. She builds up a relationship with him on the premise that he is not the monster he claims himself to be. HOWEVER to add some angst, Owen ends up hiding the massacre part of his past from her (because she kills things that kill people, and she's been pretty adamant about that). What Owen does emphasize is that, presently, he hasn't turned/killed anyone in Oakhurst, and this is what Pearl tries to use to her advantage to help prove to him that he's not really a monster. Anyway, Imma stop there for now and leave with this final thought: if Pearl and Owen had interacted more in-canon, there could have been SO MUCH potential.

• Ok, so, I think one of their biggest hurdles in the relationship would be whether Pearl could convince Owen to be human again, or Owen convinces Pearl to be a vampire. (This ofc going off canon where Cleo does not convince her/it's not their last resort) As my friend pointed out, this is essentially immovable object vs unstoppable force. Owen refuses to lose his last connection to Louis, and Pearl is pretty set on staying human for most of the canon. So maybe in a post-canon au, their relationship grows with time, and while every now and then one might try to convince the other to change, over the years they eventually give up sort of and just accept the circumstances for what they are. As Pearl gets older, Owen does make a few more attempts to get her to turn so he doesn't have to go through losing someone he has grown to care for, but she still decides to stay human, and Owen has to once again face mortality and losing someone he cares about. Except this time Pearl encourages/teaches him how to grieve, but also move on and not fall into depression. That losing people is just a part of life, and that given the nature of Owen's 'life', he gonna have to get used to mortality, death, and making new friends/losing old ones.

• Vote bloodmoon please their dynamic is so good!!! They have this rivaly, where their moralities clash, with Owens thought of "all humans are cruel and evil so they deserve to die" and Pearls "if you kill i kill you, its your own choice" and stuff, and they kept fighting bout it and think of all that potential. And the classic scene when Pearl hears Owens footsteps on the beach, and then they had a covenrsation about morality and killing and stuff, and their fight on the roof, and their fight on the beach and fgdjgfdfdkfdfgk VOTE BLOODMOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• Blood moon propaganda: Louis would absolutely love Pearl and this Owen would love Pearl. Or atleast tolerate her. Guy with no moral code meets girl with nuanced moral code. She can lecture him about killing innocent people. He can sneer at her for being judge jury and executioner of werewolves. They both don’t really like Scott goldsmith. There’s so much to talk about already!

They’re that one couple that is pretty healthy towards each other but decreases quality of life for ANYONE else in their vicinity. They got new outfits together. They were the “kids” of the original coven. They betrayed each other in profound ways, both leading to a death of someone Shelby loved. They make me so insane.

• uhhhh I can throw one out for martyn and pyro - pyro's "you learn!" about accepting vampirism followed up by martyn's "no you don't learn, you adapt!" haunts me. in general martyn genuinely tried to help pyro but pyro thought he couldn't be saved anymore…

• Silvermoon! This is just the "i'm to employed to deal with these weirdos" duo and I love it! Like they would look at eachother and decide the other is the only resonable person here and they would be right.

• I like Sivermoon because they’re both such npcs until like the very end of the series.

BLOODYCLUES:

• Classic morally upright detective finding herself chained to an unrepentant murderer, my beloved trope ❤️ Scott teaches her to stand up for herself and stop seeing the world in such black and white, Drift holds Scott’s hand while he learns to have morals again. (She had seen a lot in her career, she doesn’t flinch away from the way a killer thinks.) They both love Shelby so much, and they love their little messed up modern family. In my headcanon, they solve crimes together for fun (and hide the bodies of criminals that the system would have let walk free hehehe)

• I would like to show some appreciation for the psychological horror it could be for drift. Like on paper Scott makes drift braver and drift makes Scott kinder but also she’s spending eternity with her murderer. The dynamic potential is endless.
