Just reread one of my favorite books from my teens, and feeling the urge to keep scratching the same itch, so:
What are some books you would recommend that have the same vibe as the last like quarter of Avalon High by Meg Cabot? Most of the book was taken up by the cute teen romance, which was nice, but I want to sink my teeth into more of that kind of worldbuilding! Like-

Missing person in fiction
Try as I might this fantasy book continues to lean towards a bit of mystery (really fun) but now the main POV has gone missing.
I have no idea on how to help the second main POV to find her, as the last character that knows where she went is lying to cover up his part in sending her off on a mission to grab a plot keystone artifact but failed to disclose that an eldrich abomination resides in the...
Anyway, he's afraid of getting into trouble. How to make this smart-alecky prideful; character spill it? Ideas? Book recommendations? I just ate read a couple lots of mysteries, but it's often about a dead body so that's not helpful, as she's alive just missing.

After listening to the audiobook „the ballad of Ronan McCoy“ by Colin Morgan I am in desperate need of a book to ease the emotional pain this caused me.
I‘m looking for a feel-good (humorous maybe, like the Ernest Cunningham series) heist/detective/adventure/crime story (perspective can be either/and criminal or detective)… maybe like the oceans 11 or knives out movies
It’s allowed to make me cry (but like only once or twice and not the whole book through (when I catch you Colin Morgan!!!)
I‘m more into contemporary fiction and not fantasy I believe but I did enjoy six of crows
I also liked (for reference) the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, the perfume, anything in the Percy Jackson universe
I enjoy queer stories but that isn’t a must… oh and adult is preferred (ya is also okay) but no sex please

My latest batch of weird book requests:
1. I really enjoy bombastic, narrative rock albums by bands like Rush, The Protomen, Coheed & Cambria & composer Jim Steinman. Has anyone ever come across a book with a similar feel?
2. I’ve been very into mysterious Victorian novels lately: Dracula, The Woman in White, The Beetle, Jekyll & Hyde. Are there similar, lesser known works?
3. Since the new Masters of the Universe movie is out, I’m curious if there are any books that feel like the 80s cartoons Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power?

I will say our collection is leaned more towards ghosts rather than the extraterrestrial. We have several old folk stories with spooky elements; some works on spirits like the glaistig, púca, or other tricksters! One book I personally enjoy is Wormwood Graves, which tells the tale of a young heroine navigating an arranged marriage while attempting to break a generational curse on her family.
