EXCELLENT SHELTERED FOREST PITCHES
DOES NOT OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND
TOILET/SHOWER RATING – 5/5
THEY HAVE RADIO 2 IN THE TOILET/SHOWERS!!!!!!
Why don’t all caravan/camping sites have radio 2 in the loo, it makes a refreshing change to listen to someone singing wayyyyyyyyy off key instead of the usual earie quietness.
Carsington water site is so far one of the best sites we have stayed at, its located in a forest setting with very tall trees so is both sheltered and quite, it is also located right next to carsington water reservoir and can be seen through the tress on several pitches.
The entrance is similar to most other C&MC sites with automated barriers and the office and shop. All the staff we met were super super friendly and always on the go.
We have found that most C&MC sites do some kind of food at the weekends and Carsington Water is no different other than it does PIZZA on a Friday!!!!
Most of the pitches are hard standing although there did seem to be a fair few grass pitches and plenty of service water and waste points scattered around the site.
The toilet/shower block is extremely clean and looks very new with privacy cubicles, showers and toilet cubicles.
If you walk out of the site and turn right then follow the road just a short bit you will come to a car park for Carsington Water reservoir where we started our very pleasant walk along the edge of the reservoir to a cafe for a hot beverage and cake then onwards to a set of standing stones art project which was brilliant.
If you like to watch or take part in watersport activities this is the place.
All in all we love this site the only thing we could find wrong with it is that it doesn’t open all year round.
