III. EMPLOYMENT PERIOD
The Lady agrees to take the Serpent as property for a period beginning on May 19 2186, and ending with the death of either party. At the end of said employment period, neither party shall have any obligation to the other party, except for any severance required hereunder or any non-disclosure agreement stated in Section X of this Agreement.
The Serpent may not terminate this Agreement. The Lady shall have the right to the use of any force or mind-altering effect necessary to secure the Serpent’s continued obedience. While the Serpent is in dereliction of duty, the Lady shall not have any obligations to the Serpent under this Agreement.
The Lady shall have the right to terminate this Agreement by providing at least 1 hour’s notice. If the Lady should terminate this Agreement, the Serpent shall be entitled to severance as described in Section III.a of this Agreement.
In the event of the Serpent’s death, the Serpent shall be entitled to no severance, and its remains and effects shall be the property of the Lady, whereupon this Agreement shall dissolve.
In the event of the Lady’s death, the Serpent shall be entitled to severance as described in Section III.a of this Agreement, and shall exit the Estate within 1 hour, whereupon this Agreement shall dissolve.
a. SEVERANCE
On the dissolution of this Agreement, unless specified otherwise the Serpent shall immediately take legal possession of itself and its effects, as well as a single, decaying copy of the Estate’s master key.
The Lady shall continuously wear a decaying copy of the Estate’s master key on a leather cord about her throat, primed to decay into dust no sooner than 1 hour and no later than 2 hours after removal from her person, living or dead.
