i absolutely the opposite of mind!!!

to begin i get all my bones from roadkill which i let rot in the woods behind my house until theyre pretty much clean. then i soak them in soapy water for a few days, refreshing the solution periodically, until all the grease is gone. this stops the bones from going yellow over time. then i bleach them with hydrogen peroxide till theyre nice and white.

generally i just collect the skulls which just involves a bit of superglue to keep the teeth in and the mandibles together. thats also the case with tiny skeletons like the frog above. but, once ive gathered enough spare bones i can start getting funky with it, which is where clay or wire might come in as well. mr bone horse has a body of aluminium foil and wire which loops around the bones and holds them in place which i pressed airdry clay into to create a more coherent loop. the stick insect is held together by a bit of wire, a lot of superglue and a dream. to make it i actually printed out a photo of the bug on cardboard and laid the bones on top of it pinning them in place so they didnt move before the glue dried. im planning on making a few more bugs this summer, and potentially another horse/something similar since i have quite a few bones stocked up

Domestic waterfowl line up! Left to right in the group and individual pics : domestic goose, pekin duck, Chinese goose, Muscovy duck, Indian runner duck, khaki Campbell. I yearn for more ducks! The size difference between the pekin and Campbell is cool!
