Sleeping through the night...

sometimes you have to put a pin in music for a bit but when you get back into the creative flow you revisit the old stuff and remember how good it was. i know i've had those moments where i throw in the towel due to other responsibilities (gross) or mental health stuff (valid) or just feeling like i'm not a good enough musician to hack it in this crazy world (when in fact i just didn't know how to mix my shit!)

all this is to say that perhaps you have not heard of washington dc's bonbonfire, but they have been around for quite a few years now and are finally returning to the music scene after a long time off. this is their single "night owl", which is from 2020. yes, a covid-era bop! it is folktronica at its finest, the rainy day bedroom pop vibes of members q and krys, matching raw guitars over electric beats and tight vocal harmonies.

why feature an older track of bonbonfire's on no soap radio, you ask? well, bonbonfire has a new ep called wishful thinking coming out in june, with a handful of singles dropping in the next couple months to build up some momentum. bonbonfire has been working on this ep for a while now, but with covid, family/job changes, moving across state lines, it has been a long road. the finish line is in sight, though! and any creative person knows that getting back into the flow and seeing that light at the end of the tunnel is a wonderful thing.
