He sat 2 1/2meters across me at the dinner table. I asked what did you give up for lent? He said: “ for the next 40 days l’ll be giving away the items in my wardrobe I’ve been hoarding for years because of their sentimental value” Oh okay I said. Then he asked me: “what did you give up?” I’m giving up church for 40 days😀 I said, chuffed with myself. The look 👀 he gave me, I almost said “forgive me Father for I have sinned” but I straightened up and stood my ground in that moment of uncertainty. He quickly fixed his judgmental face and said “you supposed to give up something really important to you” and I said: absolutely!!! And church is very important to me... He looked puzzled 😕 about a week later president announced lockdown. I said to him looks like we’re all giving up church for the rest of lent😜 he wasn’t too pleased. I was like : God you’re funny 😆 I think God winkedar me. Today is Palm Sunday a reminder of the coming of Jesus to Jerusalem, May we not only lay palm leaves but lay our hearts. BELIEVE!!! God is at work, even in the uncertainty he is in control.
