The Cruel Prince - Book review
First chapter of this book was the thing that got me hooked.
“In Faerie, there are no fish sticks, no ketchup, no television” – p. 8 Chapter 1
The prologue leads us into what life was before, and what terrible trauma that always loomed over the head of our Jude Duarte and her sisters. What I love about this first instalment is how Jude will do everything to stay in the realm, not as a bride but as a warrior and all she does to keep being there. She keeps getting knocked off her feet by the fae prince Cardan Greenbriar and she will do everything to prove her worth.
It’s a book about Assassins, Betrayal and Love, and an amazing read. This was my first intro into the Fae world, and certainly isn’t my last book. I adore the writing made by Holly Black, and in case you were wondering, I first found this book through booktok where it was rather popular. I wanted to see what the hype was about, and the only reason I ever put it down was because I did not want to finish it before I had the sequel which I had wished for Christmas last year instead of buying it. So, I 10/10 recommend and I will give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
