Teardown of the Peerless electric motor for the Boice-Crane 2304 bandsaw. "It was running when we got it" was the phrase used. I think not. It was a good thing I decided to check this motor out. Seized bearing, shaft turning in the race, missing/damaged insulation, no connection to the starter brushes, etc... Even if it would have started it would have self distructed very quickly. Now, replace bearings, repair wiring and insulation issues, then figure out the starter circuit wiring for the brushes.
