"You know, at times, I kind of envy our furry friends," Anna admitted, looking at the cat who seemed to be having the time of her life, without a worry in the world. "They truly live every moment of life to the fullest."

"I feel that," Candace agreed. "They don't really have to worry about much."

"Oh yes, could you imagine a cat concerned about the economy?" Isobel laughed. "But maybe we should take a page out of their book."

"How so?" Anna asked.

MY FAITH HAS BEEN REWARDED IN 2 YEARS WHEN THIS HITS NA

Before Anna could allow any more negative thoughts to fester, someone heavy, fluffy, and with sharp claws landed squarely in her lap.

"Mrrow!!!"

"Woah, kitty!" she was taken aback.

"Yep, you were paying her too little attention," Candace chuckled. "She had to correct this affront to her feline majesty."

"Mrrow!" the cat settled in comfortably in Anna's lap, now collecting her due of scritches.

"Majesty, indeed," Anna conceded. "She is very sweet."

"Until she lands on your chest at 5 in the morning because it's time for food," Isobel laughed. "But cats are a good reminder of the better things in the world."

Once they arrived at Isobel's condo, she brought out the pie.

"Ladies, dig right in!"

"Yum! It looks so good. As does your kitty!" Candace beamed. "She's so floofy."

"That she is. And she'll have you think it's all fur, but trust me, she needs to go on a diet," Isobel chuckled. "But cats are even worse about these things than we are."

Jumping up, Isobel turned on the stereo and familiar tune rang out through the speakers.

Oh girls, they wanna have fun Oh girls just wanna have ♪♫♪

"Come on, let's dance!" Isobel invited them, getting her groove on. "Dancing is good for the mood."

"Hell yeah, can't argue with that!" Candace joined in.

Anna felt a little awkward, since she didn't consider herself that much of a dancer, but when even the cat joined in, she couldn't sit this one out.

And you know what?

Isobel was right! Her mood was much better.

All in all, a good birthday outing.
