I think one thing we don't talk about in this "fandom" and something i often wonder is how many of the men that band of brothers and the pacific are based on are/were racists or homophobic/transphobic, etc. Like Eugene sledge was from Alabama the deep south and bull was from Arkansas. Hell there was even a battle fought on British soil during world war 2 between black american soldiers and white American soldiers over the fact that england wasn't segregated and white American soldiers wanted to enforce Jim crow laws. White American soldiers would start fights with black American soldiers over the who are going to pubs and restaurants in England and they didn't like it it got to the point where the fights were so bad most British people would put up signs saying blacks only because they didn't want the white Americans to be there. The British had to back the black American soldiers and provide them with guns and ammunition to defend themselves. It's the reason that after the war most African American soldiers left America to live in Europe because even though we were fighting Nazis as Americans we still share the same ideals as Nazis it's the reason so many Americans went back to the fatherland like we saw in band of Brothers with what's his name from Oregon and malarkey. The fact the Bush family yes the president both of them were part of the American businesses that made money from Nazi Germany and they were the ones who built the railroads in Auschwitz. IBM was the company that made the system for how they collective information and murdered Jewish people along with others ethnic minorities/groups. A lot of the ideas that the Nazis were Americans mostly white Americans supported. Nazi Germany also learned how to make gas chambers from the United States, we were the first ones to use gas chambers and we used them at the southern border between the United States and Mexico. We were the ones who were doing the forced sterilizations first which we did on indigenous women and black women. Everything Nazi Germany did at some point in time they learned it from the United States in fact during world war II before we entered we were supplying both sides and that's how America became such an imperialistic nation and powerhouse. We made money off of both wars plus the fact that we entered them both late means we didn't sacrifice as much as every other country did in terms of men, ammunition, money, the list goes on.
