Veteran Bollywood actress and politician Hema Malini has firmly addressed ongoing rumours about a possible rift between her and members of the extended Deol family, especially actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The speculation intensified following the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra in November 2025, but Hema Malini’s recent statements make one point clear there is no negativity among them at all.

A United Family Despite Rumours

In a conversation with the press, Hema Malini responded to persistent speculation that tensions exist between her side of the family and Dharmendra’s first family which includes Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, their mother Prakash Kaur, and Dharmendra’s daughters from his first marriage. According to her, such rumour‑mongering is unfounded. She emphasised that all the children whether her daughters Esha and Ahana or Dharmendra’s children from his first marriage share deep affection for one another. The bond, she said, stems from the values Dharmendra instilled in them all.

Hema Malini stated that there is “no negativity at all between the family.” She explained that when someone like Dharmendra known for spreading love and strength is central to a family’s life, rumours of division simply do not hold up in reality. Malini also pointed out that the family doesn’t feel the need to showcase every moment to the public, which is often why outsiders misinterpret private behaviour as conflict.

Recent Events Might Have Sparked Speculation

Part of the public curiosity came after daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol attended a special screening of Sunny Deol’s new film, which some media interpreted as signs of selective appearances. Hema was unable to attend that particular event, and her absence may have unintentionally fuelled gossip. However, she clarified that invitations were extended and that any decisions about attending private or public family events are personal, not indicative of discord.

The Legacy of Dharmendra

Hema Malini also spoke about the emotional impact of Dharmendra’s passing. She reflected on his legacy, recalling how his values of love, strength, and togetherness continue to unite everyone. She mentioned how deeply Dharmendra is missed, with family friends and associates often sharing heartfelt memories. Even during challenging times, she said, the family stays supportive of each other.
