#fbf Two weeks this morning, I experienced @whytehorses live for the first time on the #boatyweekender. It was 1 a.m. and I had already seen so many great shows, but this blew me away. I made sure to see all their shows and tell everyone to come out this remarkable sextet from Manchester. The trio of women at the center were mesmerizing in their feminine projection of creation. Totally felt their #goddessenergy. Spinning their first #album this morning made me wistful. The song they're performing in the last slide is off this #record "Pop or Not." It still takes my breath away. Yo La Tengo gave one of their greatest performances on @bellesglasgow's #boatyweekender. These are a few highlights from the Stardust theater on board the Norwegian Pearl. I have no shame admitting that tears began streaming down my cheeks early on as the Hoboken trio rode the stripped back groove of "Before We Run" (second video clip). I later learned I wasn't alone via one of the many soulful connections I made among the kindred spirits floating the Med on this amazing music festival at sea. Much of the set was this slow, dynamic build up of chill and epic cuts that felt like extended foreplay to the light, grungy ecstasy of "Sugarcube." By the time the group got to this '90s gem the audience lost it and sprang out of their chairs to rush the stage, taking the two lone security guards on either side by surprise, who froze.
