Naomi was the clear worst for me this week. She looks really pretty but completely bored out of her mind, there’s nothing going on behind her eyes and her overall demeanor gives the vibe that she’s letting out a long exhale. This looks more like a test shot where she hasn’t actively started modeling yet. Sadly I had to agree with Naomi’s exit since she was going rapidly downhill over the past three weeks, but I was glad she made it to the Final 5.

I really disliked this photoshoot. The jewelry was honestly kind of hideous and the beautiful limestone cavern location was completely wasted. Also the wigs some of the girls were forced to wear were atrocious and I don’t get why they made everyone look sweaty. It’s a miracle that most of the pictures are somewhat passable, so props to the contestants.

Emma appearing so gorgeous and modelesque even with a sketchy wig on is just a testament to how strong her look is. The light is hitting her perfectly and her bone structure is out of this world in profile. As amazing as she looks she’s not actually doing much though; her eyes are emotionless and sleepy, and the open mouth adds to the vacancy. Emma’s high fashion strengths definitely aided her in this shoot, but if she had given a stronger expression I would’ve been totally on board with her FCO at panel.

The top 3 shots were about equal for me. Lauren was compared to a goddess in this shoot and it’s easy to see why. She’s so regal, stoic, and confident, and she sold the earrings well too. However, she may have directed her eye line a smidge too high and I don’t think she handled the crappy makeup well, but those aren’t huge issues. This isn’t the most exciting performance from Lauren but she certainly got the job done.

Sophie delivered a mixed bag of a photo, but I was expecting something worse based on how ugly that wig is. The positives: she modeled the earrings perfectly and her intently piercing stare is amazing. The negatives: that weird lurching shoulder is distracting and awkward and her mouth is way too tense. The good and bad aspects are about even which makes the end result satisfactory at best. Sophie deserved to be spared, but it was becoming apparent that she was falling behind.
