Graduate Course Evaluations
[I’ve been thinking a LOT about retiring in two years. The following evaluations from this past semester are giving me some pause. After all we’ve been through in the past 3 years--including the strike--perhaps it’s not yet time to be thinking about walking away.]
• He is an asset for The New School that needs to be preserved. Period. Words fall short to describe how amazing of a Professor he is as I have not come across someone who is so good at teaching and at the same time does not make learning a burdensome chore. He is hilarious and learning from him is always fun, every class felt like we come to a space to enjoy and at the end create something amazing. The way he conducts the course, allows one to learn so much from your fellow classmates too and it builds a healthy environment of learning different art styles, approaches and developing one for yourself along the way. His focus on personal brand and artist statement was something I particularly like as it helped me put on paper what I want my design style to reflect and it was no longer an idea in my head. His support for his students and his ability to be there for them is a huge plus. He is knowledgeable, fun, dedicated, talented, kind, creative and so much more as a Professor, 10/10!
• Brian's enthusiasm is contagious. He could teach zip codes and students will still register for his class. I felt engaged during class time and was inspired to do my best with assignments. Brian was willing to explain difficult concepts and practices repeatedly, politely and professionally to meet our learning goals. I entered the class with no knowledge of digital media and walked out with a new passion to incorporate into my career.
