for such a wonderful and endearing cast as the flowers are, the levels of like. toxic relationship potential this chapter has blessed us with?? is off the charts... flowerking is such a painfully one-sided relationship in such an amazing way. its not even strictly a romantic crush: flowery wants to literally be everything for asgore–his best friend, his partner, his family, everything he could possibly need, and the continuation of a relationship like that (if it had been allowed to continue) would just be him tearing himself apart trying to fill all those roles.

bluery is really appealing to me in a similar way–i don't ship it really so much as i feel like it's SO INTERESTING to think about, especially if you take into account the interpretation of blue as being representative of asgore's view of toriel. in that way, blue represents the ideal, the love that asgore is trying to hold onto and the love that flowery is trying and failing to imitate for him. even if blue isn't really like toriel at all, it's the idea of her role in contrast to asgore's that they're so enamored with. imagining circumstances where flowery looks at blue with jealousy, because he wants so badly to be everything that blue represents for asgore ??? and blue has it so good with yellow, he's happy, he's loved, while flowery is left forever chasing a man who hardly even thinks of him as a person. looking at it through the lens of one-sided (on Asgore's part) bluesgore as well makes it even WORSE because you've got flowery desperately pining for asgore, asgore seeing all that he misses in toriel in blue, meanwhile blue isn't interested in EITHER of them in that way and is in a happy relationship all the while 😭😭 sorry yellow ur man is desired
