She bites her tongue for his lecture, and for having the gall to call someone like her kid. Here she was, patronizing him, telling him what he wanted. He could have her pinned under him in an instant the second he wanted. And he called her kid. Ire seethes underneath that calm exterior, and that distant smirk, amused and promising all the same. âAnd here I thought everyone liked when the public was fooled,â she crooned, smooth and pleasant. âMeant you could do whatever you want, and theyâd all happily turn a blind eye time and time again.â Theyâd done it to other men.
