Fairy lands and their new ruler (in training)
Pixie alert!!
COLOR THEORY IS MY PASSION TAG GAME
Thanks @freezerbnuuy for the tag so much!! Rules are here
This game was made for me because I can't make a character who has more than 1-3 main colors associated with them. I'm trying to change it, but not very actively, so my character still have pretty recognizable palettes. But I also prefer keep my sims OC pretty simple, so you're gonna read a long yapping about how yellow = happiness and orange = autumn, sorry
So, let's start with Bluebell (I said when creating the new save lmao)
I didn't put much thought into Bell's look, I wanted it to be spontaneous and quick, so blue as bells main color fits the idea, it's a color I'm pretty neutral about, no my favorite purple, no classic red mushrooms (tho I gave bell mushroom hat in one outfit). Light blue, matching with soft green and white, is giving innocence and it's exactly what Bluebell is supposed to associate with, unexperienced baby pixie who wants to explore the world (and forced to rule it, oops). Bells pallette is also very nature-friendly and matches the world around bell well, which is good for the creature who is spawned out of nature. The last important fact is that pixies in the game are canonically blue too. And yes, Bluebell is related to them by the lore, they are all pixies.
The next one is Berta!!!
Berta is the easiest one here, her color is yellow, and the main reference is bees and honey, of course, because, well, she is a beekeper. Yellow also has a strong association with summer, happiness, friendlieness and fun, and that's basically what Berta is, she is a social girl who loves to make friend and make everyone happy. It's also color of many drinks, icluding lemonade and cocktails, and Berta is bartender, which was not planned, but it was the easier way to make money than selling sweets at the beginning, so yeah, she had to learn how to take lemons (yellow!) from life and make simoleons (also yellow!). Speaking of simoleons, yellow has strong association with business, just look at the B&H icons, and Berta was the first sim to play business-oriented gameplay in the save.
Herb has a pretty clear color scheme too
Herb's colors come straight from his name, Herb Arium, so no wonder he's wearing autumn palette. I think it's perfect for his classy, polite gentleman vibes, while still being warm and cozy to match his generally nice personality. Red-orange also makes a direct contrast to InnisGREEN, and Herb is supposed to contrast with the rest of the town, because he's a skeptic and doesn't believe in magic. That's why his palette is also pretty monochrome in the most outfits, because the fairy world is colorful, and Herb is a man who prefers things calm and in order, even while working with flowers. Yet, as I said already, he's not a gloomy or rude person, so I didn't want to use dark or dull colors for him, so yeah, autumn it is.
And, the last one I chose for this, is Wilson
Unlike Herb, Wilson IS a rude grumpy old man, so yeah, he's the one who gets the boring dull palette, as much as a man who lives in Innisgreen can possibly have. I use gray and brown for him, the other colors are only in unsaturated shades. His character should be a balance between a lonely, tired fisherman, who doesn't care much about "pretty" stuff, and at the same time still a man with good tastes in terms of jazz and alcohol, so yeah, he's not a total slob, just prefers his peace, I think the chosen colors do their job pretty well. If Herb is a vibrant early-middle autumn, Wilson is surely late autumn, where there are no colors, only rain, gray sea, gray sky, gray scales of the fish, brown dirt on the street, brown liquid in his glass and brown wood of his vintage stuff - you get the mood. (someone in bluesky compared him with branch from trolls and yeah, joy and whimsy killed his grandma, now he's allergic to brightness)
Idk who to tag, I've seen many people were tagged already, and it's kind of specific tag, sooo just consider yourself tagged if you're also a color nerd like us
