one of the less commented on things i quite like about tural as its presented in dawntrail, is that pretty much every element of its traditional magics is tied into blue magic without ever explicitly drawing that connection.
each role quest focuses on hunting down stolen totem artifacts containing the spirits of tural vidral, and through which totems people can channel the awesome powers of those tural. meanwhile in the blue mage questline you can learn additional blue mage spells from totems aquired from one of the two traditionally trained turali magician mamool ja. in mamook we see high ranking and powerful mamool ja magicians are capable of creating phantom shades of powerful individuals, the hanuhanu draw wind magics from their connection to reeds in their enviornment.
blue magic as its presented in ffxiv informs everything about magic as is seen and used in tural itself. and i think thats quite neat, as its something that could have easily been forgotten about, given that the blue mage questlines as i've played so far [up to lvl 60] have pretty firmly nosedived into "martyn is sketchy" comedy routines followed by fascinating world building tidbits on eorzea itself.
